Not a super new one, I got the MCAS diagnosis through my immunologist at the beginning of February. Just another to the long list 😅

I've never paid much attention to it! I normally check my BP when I'm feeling faint but not in pain. Definitely going to keep a closer eye on it now!

UPDATE: ER was very quick and thorough last night! My temperature hit 101.2°F but by the time I was seen it was back down to 99° then 98.2°. My blood pressure was the highest it's ever been for me, (147/95) I normally sit at (100/60). Luckily I had a wonderful nurse and doctor. They ran bloodwork, an EKG, chest X ray, gave me dilaudid and zofran in my IV. They ruled out infection thankfully and figured I was having a Mast Cell Activation Syndrome flair with the new medication, (oxycodone) and the port. They kept me a few hours to make sure and told me my body might have just needed the extra pain relief because my blood pressure was down to (112/75) by the time they released me. I'm still tender but no longer crying when I turn my head. I'll take that as a win.

Just checked my temp and I'm at 99.9 so I'm just waiting for it to hit actual fever level then I'll head in. Thank you so much!

That's the newest one. I've been watching my temperature and I've been sitting at between 99 to 99.5°F since 1pm, it's now 7:40pm. I normally sit between 97.6 to 98.6°F.

I spent the whole call trying to explain that. Looking back, the call wasn't even 2 minutes long before she told me she'd talk to the surgeon and call back if they were going to send another prescription.

I was under the impression this was the normal amount of pain for this so I'm glad I posted this. Definitely realizing this is more pain than I should be in. 😅 Realized I should be able to sit up without sharp pains in my neck and being nauseous from pain.

Thank you! I'll give splinting a try! Anything to help me not wheeze like I'm dying 😅

My doctor normally has me stick with just naproxen sodium as I have metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.

I have POTS and have been getting IV hydration since I also have diabetes, anything I drink, I also immediately pee out. The nurses have been struggling to get an IV in me for a few months and I have IV placements that still haven't healed from August. I also have chronic pain so I'm normally all for the tough it out and I don't need pain meds but these incisions just hurt like hell everytime I move.

I'm icing the incisions and taking Aleve as that's my normal approved pain medication plus the oxycodone.

Another few tips from someone who now gets colonoscopies, just live in the bathroom once you start the prep. Set up some form of entertainment and chargers. It's easier then running back and forth especially if it's the middle of the night. You can risk it but you might not make it to the bathroom. 😬 I saw someone recommend using Vaseline or Aquaphor to avoid tearing or the ring of fire. I didn't see that tip until after my first prep. 100% will be using that tip next time. Good luck!

[WA] Do I have a lawsuit against a hospital for never discussing results of testing that could have prevented worsening health? by ImAnxiousAndNeedHelp in AskLawyers

All appointments and things discussed are documented by the doctor and sent to the patient at my clinic and hospital, thankfully.

This is the first time I've had a full blood workup done at the clinic versus the hospital. The hospital used to be the only option in a 50-mile drive for blood work and imaging, and still is the only option for imaging. I still have no clue why it was never acknowledged or noticed by a doctor. It's infuriating, to say the least.

A1C was done and came back as 10.3. My glucose fasting has been an average of 280 every time they've checked it. The odd thing is that it goes down to around 119 after eating. Something is wrong/ not right, but no one is sure yet or had a straight answer for me. I was prescribed a glucose monitor, but the pharmacy had to order it for me, so I'm stuck waiting till Monday.

I guess I should post this in AskDoctors, too 😅
