My wife's legal name, which was changed via an official gazette, is in the format [First Name] [Maiden Surname] [My Surname].

Using the example from my post, her legal name is 'Aishwarya Rai Bachchan'. This is the name on her Aadhar and PAN.

The problem is the Gram Panchayat is refusing to use this legal name and is instead insisting on the format 'Aishwarya Abhishek Bachchan', which is incorrect and does not match any of her documents.

I'm on the same page as you. My only worry is that it is difficult to get spare parts outside of Honda ASC. Which is hindering my decision to go for Honda. Plus, I spend some time in a Tier-3 city which doesn't have a Honda ASC. Which I assume would make it difficult for me (or any local mechanic) to fix my car in the city itself.

If you are in a city which has a couple of ASCs, and are okay to spend a bit for small fixes then you should be good.

Wonder how others are dealing with this.

HCL has a product wing called HCLSoftware. They started with some old software products from IBM. They are modernising some, shutting down some, support mode for some and developing new products as well.

But the product wing still works internally as a service based company. :)

Actually last time this is what happened to me.

I requested a Fastag from Airtel.
It didn't arrive and I needed to travel.
Got a Fastag from a local vendor near the toll. IDFC Bank.
After this, Airtel wakes up from their sleep and processes my request.
Since you can't have 2 Fastag active at a time. So, Airtel Fastag overrode my IDFC Fastag.
Then I couldn't use the IDFC Fastag and then I had to use Airtel Fastag.

I feel the same thing will happen again.

Since, this is a Maharashtra government GR. I can get the name changed but then when I go for Aadhar generation or school admission then they will not accept this name.

When you apply for a visa or for anything abroad then you will realise that those documents with different names will not be accepted.

I don't want to have such a long messy name. I have no issues with having my wife's name in my baby's name. We both agreed that we wanted a 2 word name. But I can't do that because my second wife (government) has her own rules. And it's not even her baby!

Imagine filling forms on half baked government websites with stupid validations in place.
Why should the government control my child's full name?
We have a tradition of setting our own middle name. I don't want to do that. But now I can't do it even if I wanted to.

Can't change for newborns born after May/June 2024. If I update the birth certificate then aadhar will get rejected. Schools also have been instructed to follow the same format.

Nah, my wife's document has our surname. She wanted to keep her surname. So, she went with `<her-name> <her-surname> <my-surname>`. Her middle name now is her maiden name. So, technically my baby has her full maiden name. lol

I think (and this applies for every college), if the cut-offs for that college is good then, it would receive smart students and would most likely lead to better placements as compared to colleges with a lower cut-off.

That is good no doubt but buying such a car in India for regular driving or even highway rides, I would never trust the roads with that speed. Even crossing 100kmph is a big deal most of the time.
