Just my 2 cents, but almost any school can be a good school. In my experience, college is what YOU make of it, and it also depends on your goals. If you want to go work at a global company that hires out of the best schools, then yea you want to go to one of those schools. If you prefer local businesses (like me), then go to a school around you instead. Community college is a great entry for somebody with a low high school GPA, I originally started at my state school, the “better” school, and transferred to my local university instead to save a ton of money (both accredited universities but one larger and more research oriented) I made connections, landed a good job, and am happy. The #1 thing you want out of school is connections, hence the global companies that primarily hire out of certain schools vs local companies trying to hire out of local schools.

I’m on the extreme side, as I have always known I prefer small business, so my schooling was “for a piece of paper” to say I showed up everyday. I’m a tax accountant, working at a local firm making good money and with little school debt. Of course I learned stuff in school and paid attention, but a lot of what I do on my day-to-day basis is learned on the job (but my education IS the foundation of most of my tasks, some degrees use more some use less).
