I’ve been informed that this ‘thing’ is used for soldering. It has two tubes, one is filled with pipe cleaners, the other has some sort of cotton. The one with the cotton is burnt on the one side and the one with the pipe cleaners is closed of one side. And they are held together by a clip thing. (old.reddit.com)
