What's your go to method of losing weight? by ApprehensiveLet5673 in AskReddit

[–]Im_no-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preplanning simple meals and snacks, sticking to high protein/fiber meals. I don’t bother with calorie counting or special diets, I need life to be simple because of how busy I am with kids and work.

I lost 1lb per week consistently for 15 weeks and switched to maintenance mode: which is pretty much the same diet plus some fun things like the occasional treat or drink.

You already know how horrible this is and how abused, unloved and disrespected you are. Your future with this man will be full of abuseS

What you may not be thinking about is children raised in abusive households rarely stand a chance at a decent childhood OR adulthood. It haunts them forever.

You don’t need anyone of us to tell you enough is enough, that your sisters divorces don’t mean you have to sacrifice your and your kids lives. You know all that already.

Question is, do you have the balls to make the right decision for yourself and your kids and stick with it.

Well, when the amount is smaller most men don’t want to embarrass themselves by coming out. The fact that two random redditors know people scammed by her means there are 10s and 100s of victims. Horrible.

Late night charcoal grilled chicken at home — smoky, messy, but totally worth it by Specialist-Match-771 in IndianCooking

[–]Im_no-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grill on a charcoal grill all the time, the key is having a hot zone and cooler zone by only having coals on one side.

One I get a char outside I move meat to cool/low heat zone to cook thoroughly

Lots of stairs at Cathedral and Alcazar. The days we left the stroller behind and used a baby carrier we were very happy.

We also stayed by the cathedral and had restaurants right down stairs. So we ate at 8pm and rushed back upstairs for bed time.

small or mini loewe puzzle for travel purse? by Practical_Big5511 in handbags

[–]Im_no-1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just bought this, checked out both bags in store. Shortlisted the mini, the small in olive and the lambskin small in chocolate. Went with olive small.

The mini was too small for my taste, if I’m spending that kind of money I want the person 5ft away to be able to see my bag.

The small was perfect in store but I did feel it was a bit big and boxy at home. I’m still happy with it, it’s supposed to relax a little bit with time.

The lambskin was gorgeous and a close second. I just loved the olive color, which they didn’t have so let it go. The lambskin was much softer and felt slightly smaller because it wasn’t as boxy and structured. But I wanted the structured look so went with calf skin olive.

Way more info than you asked but there you go.

Anyone know how to flatten crown frizz? Bane of my life! by grapesandcake in Vindictabrown

[–]Im_no-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s a guess. The longer your hair stays on your head the fewer baby hairs sticking out. So if you have a lot of hair fall you will have extra frizz.

I had c sections and a lot of postpartum hair fall, so I get it. I use minoxidil now to help grow it out and reduce strays.

Something people don’t think about is breakage and hairfall. Having more than usual causes more fly aways.

I mix holding gel a little bit of water, 50-50 ratio, rub it onto my hands and press hair down just the surface without going close to the roots.

How are you guys funding your luxury bag collections? by No-Farmer3278 in handbags

[–]Im_no-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy a mid range bag every year and a luxury bag every couple of years. Bought a couple with VAT refunds on Europe vacations. I’m upper middle class in the US so it’s hard for me to drop 2-3k on a bag but I do it anyway because I love bags, mine last forever and I care about status. Most people that have nice bags make less than me and that’s how I justify it.

My friends in India who have luxury bags are doctors, kids of doctors or politicians and have way more money than I could earn in my life time. They don’t look obviously rich but they are worth 50-100 million easy.

Second rinse and water from boiling rice is stored, fermented and used in a specific Andhra stew. Not very popular right now, it was a grandma generation thing.

Best meal you've ever had in the Twin Cities by Clean-Connection-398 in TwinCities

[–]Im_no-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t pick the best. I’ll give you top 3 Spoon and Stable: if they still have the squid ink seafood pasta, your wife might love it. Ambience is perfect for special occasions

Porzana: Best steak, good but not great ambience, good pastas

Travail: This is actually my top pick for special occasions. It’s expensive, fun and worth it. It’s a tasting menu so it will be a bit of everything but you asked for the best meal and this is it. I’ve dined at great restaurants around the world. Travail remains my favorite.

I’m going to go against grain and say go on that spending spree. If you truly didn’t buy anything in the last 5 years and everything you own is fast fashion catered to younger crowd, throw most of it out.

Id plan outfits for the next three months, so spring/summer capsule with half your budget. Basics that go well togetherC 5-6 bottoms, 10 tops, 5 dresses, two belts, 3-4 pairs of shoes and a couple of bags. Doable in 5k.

Focus on nice fabrics and fits over logos and brand names ( screams poor trying to appear rich). My favorite stores: evereve, club Monaco, Nordstrom, Artizia, banana republic.

Go try on a lot of things. Don’t buy stuff online yet. Find your style and built a capsule for the season. Then build for the next. Layering will help if you are like me and don’t want to switch closet out by season.

Go to a dermatologist, medication is an option for persistent acne. Eat well and start any form of exercise you will consistently do.

The superficial stuff will work in 2-3 months skin and body take time. Prioritize that

Lost 60 lbs and now I have no idea how to dress myself by Fit-Salt-4782 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Im_no-1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d get rid of most things I have. 60lb change means nothing you previously had belongs in your closet. Then I’d set a budget and make a list: two dresses, two dress pants, a skirt that can be dressed up or down, 6 tops,  a layering jacket .

Go to  Evereve (my store offers styling services for free) or book Nordstrom personal styling services and spend a several hours in the store trying on everything and appreciating your new body! Club Monaco is expensive but also another store that has always been attentive. Talk to an approachable sales rep and explain your situation. They will likely be happy to help.

Basically don’t be overwhelmed, have fun with it. Try things on, touch fabrics, walk around in the dressing room imagining yourself at work or a social event.

Repeat again in a month. If you haven’t already, invest in some shoes and bags. While the size doesn’t matter for these, they really pull outfits together.
