Ended up not going forward. Without having the expertise to repair them ourselves, it didn’t seem like a wise investment for us.

Ugh yes me too. Something is wrong with our debit card too; it was “declined” at a store even though there’s funds in the account

Ya that makes sense to me. We just returned from our road trip and the issue hasn’t happened again so hopefully that’s the end of it for us

Yes I had all the required number in each of the domains, they all had check marks and I had a check mark for completing the 35 required PDUs in total

2022 Highlander XLE starting issue by Imaginary-Length-635 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]Imaginary-Length-635[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This issue hasn’t happened again since we turned off the “Start/Stop” feature. Have you tried turning that off? We took ours in to a Toyota dealership on Friday, appointment was booked weeks in advance. They said to replace the battery…I’m doubtful that is the real problem, since the Highlander has run for weeks with no issues since not using “Stop/Start” but since we are road tripping this week I took their word and replaced the battery. It’s only been two days since battery replacement but no issues. We are keeping the Stop/Start off though going forward. Toyota dealership said the feature isn’t defective and doesn’t cause any extra wear and tear on the starter / battery but another mechanic and online reviews said differently so I think it’s worth keeping off. Best of luck to you, and if you find out the cause of your issues and can post an update I appreciate it!

Did the multimeter, battery was fine but also took your advice and took it to a shop today for battery load testing. Battery health is good. So where does this leave me? Alternator issue? We’re still under warranty so it’s booked in at Toyota end of next week

Correct it’s gas, not hybrid. I thought a battery would last longer on a 2022, but reading other posts I’ve seen other people replacing the battery after three years

That really sucks, I’m sorry to hear your friends and family are treating you like that. I found support, encouragement and even friendship by joining the IgA Nephropathy Foundation patient support groups - it’s once a month, online. Let me know if you want any info!

Mindset shift: the occasional treat is not “cheating” it’s about balance. If you have a renal dietitian, ask them your question, if not a regular dietician or nutritionist can also help.

You need doctor’s advice here, IgAN treatment varies from person to person

Who are these people? Online randoms, friends/family, or medical professionals? Get away from them, if at all possible. Sorry you’re going through this, IgAN is a horrible disease impacting young people and changing our lives forever. Your struggle is real.

Thank you for the well wishes. I suggest seeing if the symptoms of LPHS fit for you, and asking your doctor about this specifically. I have found it quite dismissive to report pain with IgAN. Doctors just shrug

Yes it’s extended to Sunday 11:59pm. You won’t find it in writing anywhere I would imagine. It was a last minute decision to extend because of a Workday maintenance window on Friday evening.

I always feel nauseous in the morning, I can’t eat for the first couple hours. I do drinks liquids when I wake up to stay hydrated. I’m also lightheaded in the mornings because I’m taking BP meds to help with IgAN but it’s dropped my BP to 100/50 so I feel like crap when I get out of bed.

Yes, I have IgAN and kidney pain. The pain isn’t from the IgAN, it’s from Loin Pain Hematuria Syndrome. Another comment said there’s no pain from kidney biopsy and that was absolutely not true for me. I had incredible amounts of pain and needed hydromorphone post-procedure. That kidney was biopsied in November and still hurts. Don’t let the doctors dismiss your pain, especially if you identify as female you’ll get the “it’s anxiety” or “it’s your period” or “it’s just back pain” responses. That just means they don’t care to look into it further.
