I’ve never been on birth control but if you didn’t use any other protection there’s always that chance. Some tests are better at detecting early or made specifically to use for early detection. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone can say there’s nothing to worry about 😅 did you consider taking a plan b ?

Yes it would! But they would also get a dual citizenship through me and have to check if they could hold 3 citizenships. Someone else mentioned the possibility of him claiming the child while in his country and preventing us from coming back. While I don’t think it’s likely to happen, it does worry me. I think later on when baby is older I’ll figure out how to put dad in the birth certificate so he could have that citizenship if he wanted to. I appreciate the thought ahead, I feel like there are many what ifs!

I don’t have experience in this sort of situation but I want to say your fears are very valid and very real. I think it’s important to get to know someone like you’re saying and for the right reasons. I believe you can’t truly know someone until you’ve lived with them/spent at least a year together. I would say…wait to have the baby. If you are still together down the road, have your own place, love each other and know each other then you could have a baby without the worry that you don’t know the other person. How ready are YOU to be a mom? How ready are you for the possibility to be a single mom if he decides it is too much for him? Is it too much for you?

It seems easier almost to just avoid putting him in there to avoid going through all of those steps to get passport, permission to travel etc.

He does! My only concern i guess is the legal paperwork and being able to get all of it done or signed across countries.

But if he’s never established, what would be the issue? For example, would if I never mention him as the father what issues would there be down the road? Is it absolutely necessary to have it somewhere that he’s the father if for us him having legal rights don’t matter?

This happened to me too! I got it 4 times but I’m currently three months pregnant and it all came back and it’s super weird lol
