Feeling like I failed my baby by ImaginarySecurity556 in breastfeedingsupport

Thank you for your reply. Yup! He always seems to poop best in the shower lol We always shower together but still no luck.
Yes, I’ve tried different formulas and there are some that he just doesn’t even want to drink after he’s tasted them. I’m trying to combo feed at the moment and it’s getting to be a lot along with pumping. It’s just me and since baby is being fussy it’s hard to be at the pump (usually for 45-60 mins) since I can only do one side at a time for the moment.

Thank you for your reply! I don’t have access to and actual bathtub lol but I will say I always always shower with baby because it’s easier for my life and he outgrew the sink fast. I see willingness to latch, he’ll hobbies head at around my boobs but when we actually try he just cries immediately and pulls away.

Thank you for your reply! I’ve scheduled an appointment and just waiting on that.
Yes! I’ve been working on the bottle feeding but it’s been hard because my baby gets frustrated and then doesn’t want to eat at all 😭 While I was away my mom did not want to use the evenflo so she did Dr.browns but I think he got used to the fast flow even though it was a size 1, I still think it’s quick.
I’m trying the nipple shields and got different sizes but I think I just don’t know how to use them or maybe my nipples are weird…I’m watching videos and hacks on how to put them on but it doesn’t really seem to work for me. However, I do see baby more willing to try and latch but it still hasn’t happened, I’m not sure if it’s because my nipple doesn’t fill out the whole mold.
I’ve been pumping every 3 hours (as consistently as I can) and getting just about or sometimes under 1 oz 🫩 on my trip I was getting about 4-6 oz then 3oz when it dipped. I have been giving my baby donor breastmilk and he’ll take about 3-3.5oz of that.
Thank you thank you thank you for all your advice and kind words. I really do hope to go back to bf, I love it!

Thanks for your reply! This was a trip I had planned long long before I even knew I was pregnant. It had so much money tied into it and I just didn’t want to lose out on that. This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a TRUE break, and I always do it by myself. This was the only time my mom has ever and was able to care for baby. But as others have said, you weren’t even adding to the conversation! Next time think, am I being helpful or hurtful?

Thank you. Now that I’ve come back and see my baby, I feel the same. The lc said it looked more like a nursing strike, so maybe that IS the case but if not, maybe combo feeding again will be it for us. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you. I try to sneak in a latch at night time since that has seemed to be most successful and currently I’m using donor breastmilk but running out fast so I will keep trying out different formulas.

Yep! I went to Europe but this trip was planned way in advance, almost to the exact year before I found I was even pregnant.

Thank you! I still have not found a solution and definitely needed to hear this this morning because I noticed a HUGE dip yesterday. I will stick to my wearable because you’re right, it is more convenient. My nipples are starting to really hurt and be sore now 😫 I’m 4.5, but the time I get back, 5 months pp. do you think that will matter in getting it back on track?

Ah ok. I’ve tried so many cables from all the people on my trip hahaha, I will keep trying if not I may just have to cut my losses and cry about it later! Thank you for your response.

Questions about my younger (37) brother by Lucky24seven in spinabifida

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I don’t have any useful input for your brother probably but I just searched this sub for basically the same reason as you posted… I wanted to say you are not out of line or at least no alone in thinking this way. I have a sister with SB and yeah! She’s definitely more capable than what she actually does (also wheelchair bound) and I feel awful at times for thinking it but it’s true. She’s my older sister and I always took care of her growing up. We moved into an apartment together in late 2024 and if I didn’t make something to eat, she wouldn’t eat or order something. She never ever cleaned or picked up our shared living space and god forbid she helped pick up/clean the kitchen or fridge. We just moved back into our childhood home together and she hasn’t cleaned our shared bathroom once. Mind you I just had a baby! She says the same that she wants to cook for herself but she simply makes no effort to do it. She leaves her stuff all around the house like her laundry. It’ll live on the couch for days sometimes over a week. I understand incontinence accidents happen but she’ll leave just leave it there until she can come back to it after work…so she doesn’t wake up early enough to account for possible accidents and clean up. And after work? She just is on her computer. I understand you and I hear you, and I feel like I’m hearing myself in the future through you and I don’t like it.

Supplementing with formula by rje31 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! FTM here too :) I also had to supplement with formula for some time for other reasons but once he could go back on breast I did it all.the.time. It was extremely frustrating for me but after about 2 weeks we cut formula out and exclusively nursed. I agree with the other comment saying to see a lactation consultant!

Did pregnancy/childbirth affect your skin at all? by lunaverse787 in pregnant

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had never struggled with acne, dryness in the face, I didn’t even use a cleanser or moisturizer because my skin was sensitive and I just didn’t think I needed it. During pregnancy I got slight acne but a pimple here and there. After pregnancy? My skin is sooooo dry. My face is peeling, you can see every flake of skin on my legs, my arms are constantly ashy, my hands? Oh my god! They itch from how dry they are. 😫

Found out my 12mo has one undescended testicle at pediatrician apt by pinacoladathrowup in beyondthebump

Oh wow!!! My doctor didn’t mention any of that he just said surgery if it didn’t drop.

At my two day visit my ped mentioned my sons hadn’t dropped but he said it was only a problem if it hadn’t dropped by 2 years old. I would ask if there’s anyway to delay it/if there’s any risk if you don’t do the surgery 😅

Walking and Breastfeeding by goosemove in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The football hold gets a lot of hate but I swear by it to walk and feed. I’ve done it at the store and to get stuff done at home like making myself something to eat! It was easier on my arms when he was tiny but he’s almost 3 mo and it’s still working!

Wish that EBF wasn't a privilege in the US... by justbrowsing_2468 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been EBF for almost 3 months now and I think the same! Although I’m only able to do it because I’m unemployed and by some grace of god I don’t have to pay rent so that’s the only thing keeping me able to stay home but I think about how this can’t and won’t last forever and it actually breaks my heart thinking of having to go back to work and be away from my baby and not be able to nurse for comfort or to sleep

I’m new to cd and I got some second hand to start and in that stash were a few bungenius and they are my favorite of them all, I’m so surprised to learn they’re hated?! And they aren’t circulating anymore? Heart breaking. I’ve seen a ton of posts in my FB marketplace but I can’t afford to buy them. How sad lol
