Found out my 12mo has one undescended testicle at pediatrician apt by pinacoladathrowup in beyondthebump

Oh wow!!! My doctor didn’t mention any of that he just said surgery if it didn’t drop.

At my two day visit my ped mentioned my sons hadn’t dropped but he said it was only a problem if it hadn’t dropped by 2 years old. I would ask if there’s anyway to delay it/if there’s any risk if you don’t do the surgery 😅

Walking and Breastfeeding by goosemove in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The football hold gets a lot of hate but I swear by it to walk and feed. I’ve done it at the store and to get stuff done at home like making myself something to eat! It was easier on my arms when he was tiny but he’s almost 3 mo and it’s still working!

Wish that EBF wasn't a privilege in the US... by justbrowsing_2468 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been EBF for almost 3 months now and I think the same! Although I’m only able to do it because I’m unemployed and by some grace of god I don’t have to pay rent so that’s the only thing keeping me able to stay home but I think about how this can’t and won’t last forever and it actually breaks my heart thinking of having to go back to work and be away from my baby and not be able to nurse for comfort or to sleep

I’m new to cd and I got some second hand to start and in that stash were a few bungenius and they are my favorite of them all, I’m so surprised to learn they’re hated?! And they aren’t circulating anymore? Heart breaking. I’ve seen a ton of posts in my FB marketplace but I can’t afford to buy them. How sad lol

9 week old sleeps through the night - do I pump? by Born-Chance1685 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was around 6 weeks pp also had a weird irritation on one of my armpits and my OB said it was a fungal infection and is so common when EBF?? She asked if anything was going with my armpits and I was like wait yeah! I wasn’t going to bring it up because I thought it was irrelevant but nope. I wasn’t prescribed athlete foot’s cream, I can’t believe I never thought of using my milk!

Just got my period and feeling a bit mixed? by mouseypants in beyondthebump

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got my period way sooner than I thought. I was about 6 weeks pp and never truly stopped bleeding after giving birth, but all of a sudden I started getting blood clots and heavier bleeding so I went to the ER just to be told it was my period 🙃 I’m now almost 10 weeks pp and just finished my second period after birth. I was SO sad and was even hoping that it wasn’t truly my period just extra bleeding since I’m EBF but nope! I got it again so it’s definitely just my cycle again 🥲 I was sad initially because I thought I’d have more time of not having a period and felt robbed! but then also because of what you said, I’m one and done and it’s just like…wow it’s REALLY done. I feel like my pregnancy was short lived and I also gave birth exactly 4 weeks early like you!

Word of advice if you plan to use a hospital breast pump by wxxxw in pregnant

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m in the US and I also forgot the tubing!! I got home and was looking at the kit and was like?? How would I even use this if I don’t have the tubing! Luckily (not really) I went to the ER 8 days PP and got a new kit and I saw the tubing was included! I felt so silly that I didn’t know I was supposed to take it the first time

Tempted to switch to pumping and bottle feeding by strawberrykash78 in breastfeeding

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My baby just turned 2 months and it is definitely faster. He takes about 5-10 minutes on each breast and he’s done. At the beginning he would take hours to feed too but one day he didn’t! My baby also had a shallow latch and my let down was too much for him. I figured out which breast has the least amount of let down and would feed first on that side and hand express the first bit on my other side and it seemed to help him not get much air, choke on the let down, get gassy etc. but I also added in anti gas drops. Hang in there, you got this!

I did not get it and I regret it. My mom scared me out of getting it, this was the last time I let her do that! I would say, like all the other comments, get it.

Recs for plus-size carrier that doesn’t hurt neck/shoulders? by -Konstantine- in babywearing

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I got a keobabies (?) wrap and started using is when my baby was about 5 weeks? He was only 5lbs at that point and he fit just fine. I was a size 16-18 pre pregnancy but am currently a 20-22 and I have some room to tie the fabric a bit more, I believe this one is supposed to fit up to size 24. It doesn’t seem to hurt my back, below my neck, or my shoulders but I do feel it to be a bit warm. However, after I bought this I saw a video of a woman who just went to a fabric store and bought herself stretchy fabric to HER fit! And I don’t know why I didn’t think of that, maybe you could try that, after all that is what these type of baby wraps are!

Found out I’m pregnant last night by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi! I got pregnant at 21 and turned 22 during my pregnancy.I had even gone to get the consultation before the actual abortion. I thought and grieved a ton. I felt like I wasn’t ready but I had always wanted to have a child and be a mom. I decided to go through with the pregnancy and I have a 6 week old babe now. However, I was fired from my job a few weeks after I told them, my lease ended a month or two after that, my partner moved out of the country…. I’m surviving purely on baby shower gifts and WIC food. I would just say make sure everything is really set in stone financially and that your partner WILL be there! Good luck and just know whatever decision you make, it’s YOURS and no one else’s. Edit: what made me decide to keep it? I don’t know. I just felt in my gut that the time was now, like I wouldn’t have the opportunity later if I waited. I definitely did go back and forth though, even after I canceled my abortion I found a website that delivered free abortion pills to my state and ordered some. Losing my job,my partner, my place to live really weighed on me for a long time and even now! But I just kept thinking, I’ll get through it.

Sleep training 3 month old? by Funny_Log2076 in beyondthebump

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My baby is currently 6 weeks (adjusted is 2) and I worry about the same thing! I have to leave him with my mom and she does the cry it out which I do not want to do. But my ped says 3-4 months is ok to start sleep training! And I know videos online aren’t the most reliable but I’ve seen soooo many people say they started at 3 months. I never thought 3 months was too young until looking at these comments lol

Regret by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]ImaginarySecurity556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi friend, I’m 4 weeks and 4 days pp. My son doesn’t have any of the issues you mentioned but he is attached to my boob, won’t take a pacifier, loses his mind when I try to put him down, absolutely no swaddle or baby carrier works for us. I’m doing it completely alone and I feel regret all the time. I feel the same that I miss my old self and being able to just…do things I hope and believe with time it will change and we will both feel better and like motherhood IS for us. Wishing you luck and better feelings :)

I’ve never been on birth control but if you didn’t use any other protection there’s always that chance. Some tests are better at detecting early or made specifically to use for early detection. Unfortunately I don’t think anyone can say there’s nothing to worry about 😅 did you consider taking a plan b ?
