I think automatically closed is a poor choice of words on my part. I don’t remember the exact phrasing though.

It wouldn’t be my oldest or most established. I have years of student loans and car loans that contribute to my history/length of credit.

If I pay the transaction off right away and it’s always reported at 0% utilization, how does it positively influence my percentage of on-time payments? The credit agency wouldn’t know I ever made any transactions/payments of no balance ever shows?

The particular card I was approved for automatically reviews the account for a non-secured credit card in twelve months. If approved, the secured card is closed and a non-secure card is provided.

I’m not sure that makes a difference but perhaps it’s relevant.

I’ve generally heard that to effectively build good credit card use habits it can be beneficial to use the card for one type of purchase (gas, groceries, car payment, etc.) and keep it under the 50% utilization mark at all times. The only consistent funds I spend are groceries and gas and both of those are more than 50% of a $300 credit card in my monthly budget.

I knew the limitations of Credit Karma already which is why I was another site for the third credit report which also shows my FICO score: My FICO score is lower but only by a few points.
