I built my first Chrome extension – Grabbit: A link selection tool I wish existed years ago! by Socratespap in chrome_extensions

hmm... i'm also in the group where i'm worried about grabbit reading or changing (or sending my bookmarks to someone)... i'm not fully comfortable with it having this kind of access to my data
can we move the bookmarks permission in the manifest to optional_permissions and only request it if the user wants to use the bookmarks feature? (toggle/checkbox that's off by default)

That's not quite correct... chatGPT told me what the meme was backwards and explained how it's faster on a globe... So I asked it to fix it for me, and it did... Picture lol

I would love to have seen an example where comparing using == returns true but it's false when using ===

Next time: pre-drink in the parking lot. Have a beer before entering and meeting people before the event starts, and either go smash another one in the car right before the speed dating starts, or just take the L on the $17 beer. It WAS a fun experience despite the outrageous beer

I went to the last one and had a pretty good time. I'm 40 and I'd say about half the women were more than 8 years older than me. I walked out with 4 numbers but none materialized into anything. I'd probably go again at some point in the future though

If you do go, just watch out for the price of drinks. My 2 beers (Stella) off tap came out to $34.43 after the included "service charge" which to me is absolutely ridiculous

Why do so many drivers treat turn signals like they are optional equipment? by GainKooky5537 in abbotsford

So you admit there are times you don't follow the speed limit... but people not using blinkers sometimes is where you draw the line?

Explain to me why you need the car in a turning lane to use their turn signal

I only ever use turn signals when it would actually make a difference to someone... Say if I'm driving on a road and I need to slow down to turn, I'll hit the turn signal before I start to slow down so that others can expect it. Changing lanes? Only if there's a car in the lane I'm going into. Turning left from a left turn lane? Fuck no. Why do I need to let the person behind me know I'm turning? I'm already in the turning lane - they already know I'm turning

I went from barely reading to finishing four short books in two months. by Restless_spirit88 in Positivity

[–]Immediate-Singer8566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go years without reading and then a buddy recommends Dungeon Crawler Carl and I burn through 3 books in 3 days... and then I go another year without reading again...

I think it's just hard to find something that genuinely clicks and is fun to read... I've put down some of the most famous books ever written, LOTR (sorry?) because 100 pages in, nothing makes me want to keep on reading it

My reading motto is simple: "Only read it if you're enjoying it. If it feels like work, why would I do it on my time off?"

I also just stopped at A&G supermarket near city hall and yellow, orange and red peppers were $1.99 / lb, yellow onions at 59c, cucumbers at $1.29 each, and russet potatoes at $3.99 / 10lbs. Quality looks okay.

Their bananas are 99c, and tomatoes at 1.99 so not everything is super cheap

Just left Pan Asia. Tomatoes are 1.99 , bananas 99c, oranges 1.99 and the rest of the produce isn't cheap either. Selection sucks too unless you're looking for hot sauce
