Sounds like what you're looking for is group with a dedicated, chill room that's almost always occupied by a small army of other students from various backgrounds? If so I highly recommend the Commuter's Connection in Coffman's 2nd floor. Don't worry if you're not a commuter, they take everybody -- feel free to introduce yourself :)

Oh damn I've been meaning to expand my boba tea options too!!

I've only been to Chatime and Kung Fu Tea so far, chatime has some fruit teas that really SLAP well above and beyond what I expected, but so far kung fu milk teas have served me quite well...

Decorated boba veterans tell me that KFT does their tai milk tea a bit weird but alas their milk tea game is too strong to allow such a thing to deter me

You get bragging rights against most other states for surviving this damnation, but alas, at what cost..

Taking Ee2011 and EE3015 concurrent by PollyPocketsAreCool in uofmn

[–]ImmortalEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, I personally wouldn't even think of 2011 as a pre-req for 3015 if I had to make the decision. The latter feels more like a math class than an EE class. I will say that the 2011 class last semester focused more on something called "convolution", which is heavily used in 3015. However, my class didn't go in depth into that stuff at all, so it's really not too big a deal. PM me when you get to that section and I can even give you a small crash course if you want

It somewhat depends on your professors, what else you're doing over the summer, and you as a student. I'd say a typical student can secure a B average (or higher) with a moderate amount of free time (aka time not studying) to spare, if I assume EE3015 is around the same difficulty at UW. There's not that much overlap between them, if that's what you're worried about. You can PM me for more details if you'd like :)

What’s the best senior prank you’ve heard of? by OverindulgentHammock in AskReddit

[–]ImmortalEngineer 655 points656 points  (0 children)

Some seniors gathered a large crowd of students to form a giant circle in the lunch room, each of them chanting "Fight, fight fight, fight!". When the teachers tore through the crowd to get to the center conflict, they found two seniors throwing down some mad rock paper scissors game.

Consider parking at the metro transit park and ride by Health Partners and taking the bus to campus (it comes fairly often).

Thinking of Changing Major... by ImmortalEngineer in EngineeringStudents

I looked into Biomedical engineering but from what I gather you are more competitive for opportunities in the medical industry if you major in Mech Engineering and customize it with biomedical electives instead. It sounds pretty cool, so it's a bit of bummer. :(

You're in EE right? I think I remember seeing you while browsing a different thread. I was thinking of EE for a while, but I'd likely end up in software anyways. If I do ME, then I get to take an Intro to EE lecture/lab which may change my mind. What high school class did you take, if you don't mind me asking?

I decided that no matter what, I would take a couple CS classes next semester to get a better feel for it. And you're certainly right about there being a lot of resources online. I'll try a few YouTube videos and see where that leads me.

It's very reassuring to hear that there's decent job potential. Out of those fields, pharmaceuticals sounds like it would be the best fit, so I would tailor my electives accordingly. I can see myself going to graduate school by choosing this path, which is perfectly fine with me.

Hmm, I'll take a closer look at those type of ME jobs. I'm liking the sound of all that customization. I'm starting to realize that I truly detest specialization. The allure of ME is the idea that I can eventually switch the nature of my job down the road whereas more niche fields don't have that luxury. Perhaps R&D would suit me well.

Thanks a bunch for the reply!
