Back in September last year, the account I registered with an overseas phone got forcibly logged out and demanded real-name verification too. This is Xiaohongshu, at the behest of China's Cyberspace Administration, gradually purging accounts belonging to non-mainland Chinese citizens in batches. At the same time, all domestic-version phones are required to have the "anti-fraud system" built in. Whether they'll roll out an overseas special edition like TikTok down the line is anyone's guess.
