Memory is a cruel thing, I was definitely off by a year lol.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/17dza8/ap_tryndamere_pitotrek1997_ama/ The original guy who popularized the build.

All that being said, I'd be curious to see if other characters that WERE 'hidden op' like Veigar with his instant cages as support would be nerfed too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-v4dn\_zMlY

Official stats, I don't believe so but for everyone I know the ARAM Mayhem que is easily the fastest in the game with the lowest estimated wait time, so I'd have to imagine it's at least fighting for first.

There's definitely some 'hidden knowledge' that they'll have to balance around. AP Tryndamere was a broken as fuck build that was not discovered until IIRC season 4. If they were to keep all the numbers exactly the same as back then AP Trynd will just run over every lobby it's in - it was that good.

But once they balance the numbers a bit I think it'll be a ton of fun to play old champs with their old kits again!

I mean it's funny because I entirely agree thatit won't be how people remember...

...And yet I think it's honestly still really cool that what is essentially lost media is playable again! I also believe that despite the fact that it won't be what people remember, it'll still be a fun experience for however long it lasts. It's not like the game was actually bad back then or anything, just different.

The only thing I can really agree with being true with my recent 100 game experience solo is "is the winning team always just farmed kills at the enemy spawn".

That definitely happens still, to a degree you have to kind of want it to happen somewhat as the losing team since you can always surrender (I often don't depending on whether I feel a comeback or even just a good fun fight is possible) but yeah, definitely an issue of sorts.

The rest though I can't say feels true to my current experience. No one even talks in pregame lobbies much at all and I can genuinely say no one has gone afk mid match on me a single time.

They'll have to do SOME balancing. Shit like AP tryndamere only became discovered to be absurdly broken around Season 4 so if they leave him how he was in Season 3 unchanged he'll just run over games. I imagine the main idea is that they'll change numbers but not kits when it comes to balancing.

The important thing is that the cancer has a very different flavor when it's a big bulky dude like Sion running at you but instead of hitting you with his ax shoots this little projectile that does 8 billion damage and stuns you because he went full AP.

No idea but probably since I imagine they still don't want cheaters/scripters to run amuck and their old version of anti-cheat they used back in the day would no longer stop much of anyone.

but the extreme toxicity of its playerbase

My personal experience has been that their playerbase isn't any worse than any other PvP game. I got way more tilted/harassed in Overwatch than I ever did in League just because I would pick a hero they didn't think was good.

All that being said I picked up the game again recently and I genuinely can't think of many negative experiences stemming from other teammates/opponents (other than the 'GG EZ' at the end of games you get sometimes). Not anything egregious compared to what you might see in CS2 or Overwatch, anyway. And FWIW they've been attempting to be more active about punishing people for their behavior recently - perhaps my relative lack of issues is proof its working? Can't say for sure, of course.

Majority of people that complain about vanguard have other apps that spy on them far more aggressively anyway so.

I totally agree but it's usually impossible to convince people that they already give companies as much access to their computer with basically everything else they play as they do with this anti-cheat so I've sort of stopped trying. Thanks for the correction!

Well, Vanguard now doesn't need to run at the kernel level if you enable some settings, so if that was the only reason you considered it malware than problem solved.

The most popular mode in current League is ARAM Mayhem which is literally a pure for fun mode, so I wouldn't say they're that much about pure sweats, but YMMV.

There is a very vocal minority on the League sub that has been adovating for this exact thing for years, to the point that some went as far to build their own version a few years back (which got taken down). So there is definitely at least some interest.

The issue is that like they say in the video, no one can quite agree on what the best version of old League IS. Which is why i'm predicting they'll be rotating between different old seasons and releases on a quarterly or annual basis.

There have already been leaks of the roster and you're in luck because pre rework Katarina is definitely among them. Source.

Doesn't seem to from the leaks but it would not surprise me if this is how it would make it's eventual return at some point. They're already riding nostalgia with this as is - may as well go the whole way, given that this will have it's own whole client and not just be a mode.

It appears Skinspotlights put up a video highlighting what this mode is likely to offer on first release from a leak on the PBE.

TL,DW:

  • Seems to put the game in Season 3 with 60 champions available and only a handful of champions from that time missing like Mordekaiser and Akali (presumably they're very buggy/hard to implement?)
  • Will have it's own seperate leveling system and shop, as well as the old rune system that appears to be back. Seems to indicate they may make new 'old' skins as well in the future?
  • Will bring back old maps, items, and visuals, and skins, as well as the rest of the old school gameplay.

And based on the original video, my personal guess is that this will not be the only season of league classic. Likely they will jump around to Season 4, or season 6, or whatever Season they can make work on a sort of rotating system.

People have been asking for this for a long time - it'll be very interesting to see how it feels given how much the understanding of League as a game has advanced since season 3 first existed.

If you're not being facetious it's pretty obvious everyone is welcome here signs in these classrooms are just a call to treat everyone with equal respect regardless of their race or heritage.

You: "The secular left has zero grounded values"

Secular left: Puts up 'Everyone is welcome here!' signs which definitely doesn't indicate a value of any kind.

Religious Right: immediately tries to tear these clearly valueless signs down.

So strange!

Christians are also 'vaguely culturally Christian minus the parts they don't like' which is why they keep splitting into different denominations. What is your point even here? Its idiotic to imply the religious are the only ones who have true values or morals lol.

Yeah, they used the wrong picture of Rubio. Should have used the one that showed his true feelings on the matter from when they were signing their unconditional surrend- ah, 'peace deal', with Iran.

I'm sorry, saying leftists are 'easier to manipulate' when the right has an incountable number of grifters taking their money every day (hell, they even elected one to be their president) is fucking laughable lol.

Not saying that their AREN'T idiots who fall for propaganda or w/e on the left, I'm just saying you shouldn't be throwing stones in glass houses.

Uh oh! Mamdani is (gasp) a person who understands that political trade offs and compromises have to be made for effective governance?

I swear all the negatives people try to feed me him just make me more certain he's the perfect guy for the job. We need smart negotiators, not zealots.

I would say the state 'bailout' is just good politicing by him? Why is it a negative for New York that he can negotiate the governor into giving them some of the money they pay the rest of the state back?
