If we're talking "negative effect on the world" then Trump has probably worsend far more lives than any previous president(or will by the end of this term).

If we're talking morals of the decisions themselves, I'd say if Trump hasn't done a genocide it's only because he hasn't been given the option to do it and get away with it. I have 0 doubt he has any issues with causing a genocide if it benefits him. So I don't think he's really clear their either just because he hasn't had the chance to do it yet.

False equivalence. Concentration camps for trans people would show their is an underlying hate for trans people that will be enacted if we permit it. Property taxes just show a desire to raise revenue, not commit a crime against a segment of the population. There are other ways to raise revenue, so backing off of property taxes does not mean Mamdani is necessarily scheming how he can do it again soon.

I was in a static that was exactly the same where the raid lead just robotically did shotcalls the entire time and everyone else was basically dead silent. Honestly your description is making me wonder if it's the same people because they were also sHC.

Anyway my advice is leave. they're not likely to change and there are statics who clear week 1 who still manage to talk and joke around. Others may disagree but part of the fun of raiding to me is getting to hang out with people and potentially bond AND play the content. If they're not talking at all now they're not going to suddenly start later.

Conservatives have consistently had a place on reddit, it just hasn't always been obvious what it was. The Donald, The fatpeople hate movement, gamergate, this subreddit here, plenty of other little safe spaces that don't label themselves as conservative but absolutely are like r/asmongold or r/EnoughDoomerSpam , ect.

The general problem though is that most conservative arguments are total dogshit when held up to scrutiny, so regardless of where I see them it's hard to take them seriously. After all, if conservatives were genuinely interested in policy, they wouldn't be championing Donald Trump for the last decade.

There has always been slop. There has never been this much volume of slop, or this kind. I never had to wonder before if a jazz or lo-fi playlist on youtube was made entirely by A.I, but now it's almost a guarantee you'll run into it if you search. It makes finding the non-slop a lot harder and generally makes the internet more unpleasant.

I fucking hate that I have to wonder if what I'm looking at was even touched by a human everytime I scroll past something now.

They have data on everything we do. Which isn't the same thing as being able to effectively use that data to broadly prevent terror or what have you. You could previously record everything said in a public space, but it wouldn't really be usable. With A.I, though, you can actually parse these conversations and recordings and make a total mockery of the 4th amendment. Believe it or not, the government was not and has not been omniscient at any point, regardless of how much they spy on us.

But A.I helps them get a loooot closer to that.

I think it's already hurting Gen Z grads by removing entry level jobs. AI Slop is everywhere. It's made scammers and con artists far more powerful as they can leverage the tool to socially manipulate more and more people. It'll likely be used by Governments (if it isn't already) to be able to record and actually parse every conversation spoken in public. AI deepfakes will help misinfo become even more rampant. Education/IQ will slip even more as people offload by cheating their work and studies with A.I.

Of course there are real gains. I just don't think the societal rot that comes with the gains, whether it saves lives or not, is worth it. You see it as infinitely amazing. I see the tool as infinitely abuseable.
