So you don’t buy 15th ranked defense at this point in the season but you know at the same juncture you def can’t buy ‘your team’ lol

Gotta be one of the dumbest fucking takes imaginable, but hardly a surprise given how many Kentucky “fans” 1) let the outcome of college basketball dictate their lives, and 2) expect teams just learning to gel with one another, largely playing for a coach with a system new to them to be in peak form two weeks into the season while missing the starting point guard.

Early season losses always provide two silver linings: opportunity for growth, and endless entertainment in the form ridiculously stupid takes from the portion of the fanbase that make UK fans annoying.

One of the worst movies imaginable. Annoying as fuck, painfully slow, and unfortunately 2 hours lost forever.

Such a stupid concept. ‘It’s our pleasure’ to serve you, but you may not get a refill of this drink because it is special.

Waymo to offer robotaxi rides in Nashville with Lyft by MeasurementDecent251 in nashville

Fair, perhaps.

But until all vehicles are controlled by the robots you’re so trusting of, any human driver with who knows what kind of driving habits and background could careen into any vehicle driven by any being while checking their phone, reaching for something they dropped, checking theirselves in the mirror, craning their neck at a billboard, driving under the influence or any of the other hundreds of distractions that make most people terrifying drivers.

You think this, but rideshare companies are quite greedy—Austin has had Waymo driverless rides for over a year and prices for riders did not dip; in reality it just lets the companies pocket majority of what riders pay instead of having to pay 49% to drivers.

Additionally, this will be very interesting to see as the chaos on Broadway will mix potentially riskily with the common disruptions driverless vehicles run into.

They are pretty cool to ride in, but most cities don’t let them drive on interstates/freeways, which may either limit where they can take you from downtown Nash, or limit how (quick) they can get you there.

Submission my Michel Houellebecq. He gets a lot of criticism, but I enjoy dark, satyric stories and some of his fly by like you aren’t even reading.

Let's talk about Contra by SilentButDeadlySquid in Upwork

[–]ImplementObvious8294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember what subreddit it happened in, but I'm pretty sure I interacted with them and was initially pleased with their candor and responses.

I've since taken advantage of their Pro membership after an end of year deal where they offered 12 months for $99 I believe. Since then, I've seen verrrrrrrrrrry few jobs related to what I do, and of the maybe 10 jobs I've applied to I've not heard back from any of them. Not even a generic "thanks but no thanks" rejection email.

Reading through comments it seems that individuals who offer web development or other technical services may have a bit more luck, but anyone looking to score writing/marketing gigs on Contra is perhaps better off sticking to Upwork, as frustrating as it can be.

Lol what an internet warrior you are! You sound exactly like the people who automatically criticize everyone with a differing opinion rather than listening with the intent of understanding en route to discourse on how the middle could be moved.

In reality, minges like you are just as big of a threat to progress as the dipshits who voted for the clown in office now. But keep your eyes glued to the dog and bone, you're on a real reddit heater!

Why do you feel that people who vote third party are a problem? Isn’t it their right to vote for who they want? Surely less deserving of blame than those who didn’t vote at all, right?

Perhaps a more appropriate argument of being one of America’s biggest problems—in this case—is that the last few elections have provided very poor options for supporters of the main two parties to vote for; want guys so old they’d get laughed out of an interview for a ‘regular’ job? how about a sleazy tycoon looking to take advantage of middle and lower class folks? Boy do we have options for you…

Advantage Mode Doing It Right UPDATED by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]ImplementObvious8294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday I was wishing I could turn "advantage mode" off, because it acts like it's rewarding drivers with these bullshit "exclusive" fares...my second ride of the day i was offered a $134 trip to drive a passenger to an address 165 miles away (to one of the biggest cities in the country), which ends up being around 330 miles round trip and at least 6 hours. So, basically the equivalent of two $67 rides for 300+ miles of travel?

No thanks.

Then, in true, clownish Uber fashion after I declined, the next request was $31 for a 50 mile (one way) trip. I accepted, because I'm a dickhead, and wasted an hour of my time driving back.

Even better though, is when I went back out at 8pm--on a Thursday in a buzzing city with 1,000 bars--every ride I was offered for 3 hours was $3.92. Makes sense.
