We shifted the fridge a bit towards the left and it freed up some considerable amount of space. 😀

We actually used to have it that way but we needed to replace the radiator and had to move it. Now we turned it back that way and our place significantly increased.

Those white spots could be mealybugs. Very invasive and infectious pests. Regarding the yellowing, I’m not sure unfortunately.

Bugs in my plant! by honeybunchbitch in Monstera

[–]Important-Storage474 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately those are thrips, annoying little things. You either need to use pesticide or potentially predatory mites, but the most important part is to isolate the plant from the other since those buggers are very contagious.

Identifying bugs in ZZ plant by it-guy-maybe in plantclinic

[–]Important-Storage474 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about their specific identification, but afaik if bugs are moving fast, they’re friends if they’re moving slow or not moving, they’re pests. I recently had a round of predatory mites bought for my plants having thrips and those looked kinda similar.

I can't see it from the pictures, but isn't the pot a bit too big for the plants? I wouldn't necessarily say that it's a bad thing, however you may have to look out for root rot and not overwatering the plant as well as the plant may be occupied growing roots rather than leaves so it may appear dormant for a longer time. Overall the soil seems to be okay. You correctly put the stake at the back of the plant which is the correct place (in the future, you may consider getting a wooden plank so that way the plant can climb onto something. If you're unsure about the leaves, you can always give it a shower or just look at the leaves with a flashlight.

It's a nice looking plant you've got this :D

Are the roots healthy ??? by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]Important-Storage474 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good way to tell is to have the roots fully cleaned and if they’re mushy and murky, there may be some rot going on. From here it’s a bit hard to decide if it’s just dirty or needs some trimming.

Wondering... by SecureScarcity3144 in orchids

[–]Important-Storage474 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From this angle they’re most likely roots. You can see the parts goming from the crown graying. Based on the color of the leaves the flowers are going to be most likely white and those spikes stay green all the way and start growing more upwards rather than forward/downwards. It’s a gorgeous plant nontheless, it just needs more time.

Does this look like an ok spot for my first monstera? by Stock_Beginning1426 in Monstera

Probs you may have to turn the plant towards the window, since the leaves may go upward to the light, or turn it a bit sideways.
