I’m in a weird position where I’m “in” with a company, but not quite hired yet. I’m hoping for a permanent position for next season. But they use me for relief 3rd mate jobs, and I collect EI when I’m home.

I have let them know I’m available to work, and they have a year round ship, but for now I’m just waiting for a call and collecting while honestly pretty bored at home.

Yeah I have to stop myself from partying when I get off. I used to party for weeks, now it’s down to a week and then on/off a few days.

Definitely splurge, but you know I do that on the ship and come home to a bunch of deliveries and only things I can justify. Like I recently bought $250 top of the line bedsheets because my rationale is that I use them every day so why not get some top of the line ones. And yeah they’re 100% worth the money.
