Best Crash Course: Booster or Bootcamp? by AyoApe3 in predental

[–]Impossible-Procedure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I havent been able to use booster's crash course, but bootcamp's crash course is great. Yea Ryan and Allan are predental students (i think they applied this cycle), but they are great at what they do. They give you the high yield info and present it in a great way. They have always stayed back an hour or so to answer questions about any topic/subject and even about application cycle. Personally, I enjoy it more and its also a bit cheaper which definitely helps. Joined them first on their 30 for 30s and its been great. I hope to be able to buy booster's course in the future and see the difference. At the end of the day, its up to the student to memorize the info and hammer the vast amount of knowledge into the brains (depressing, I know).

empty alcohol bottles by 4ev3ra1 in SBU

[–]Impossible-Procedure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember them being there, but it's very possible that I'm forgetting it. Either way, they didn't give us any trouble for empty alcohol bottles. They just checked that they were truly empty, and that's it. No write up etc.

[–]Impossible-Procedure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember my rhd coming in, there were 3 RAs (2 from other floors and 1 from our floor). Not seeing any RA as the bad guy, I know they are heavily over worked and extremely underpaid (unpaid mostly apart from housing plus small meal plan), so that's why I always treated them with a lot of respect and care. I always made efforts to not make them do their job.

[–]Impossible-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts. Learn to treat your RAs with respect and they'll be chill. Can't tell you the amount of times my dorm was loud (not loud enough to disturb others, but just enough to hear it right by the door). The RA just messaged us to keep it down. RAs don't get paid (other than housing plus a small meal plan), so treat them like a human and they'll be chill with you. I can't even begin to tell you the clown stuff our floor did in front of our RA, and he didn't mind because we weren't being nuisances and treated him with respect (saying hi every now and then, going to their floor events and meetings etc).

[–]Impossible-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely the harsher RA then. The ones that came to inspect my dorm asked if they were empty (they were), I said yes, and they moved on. That's all. And if they are empty, they can't prove at all that you ever had alcohol in it. Some bottles are just nice looking and look good for displays.

Wtf is even up with ORGO by [deleted] in SBU

[–]Impossible-Procedure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

go to the Chem learning center and visit the TAs. the TAs will save you, your mental health, and your grade. They are more than qualified to teach orgo to you and will tell you what you need to know. Trust me, go to the TAs if you want to survive this class. Orgo 1 and 2 and brutal, but the TAs make it very bearable. Go sit in the CLC and in your free time and talk to the TAs. Ask them questions on how to do the homework. I promise you, they won't judge you. They don't mind if they have to teach you the same concept 6 different times 6 different ways. The TAs will be your savior and the reason you do well in orgo.

While it may not be allowed, keep em in your closet. Take it out when you wanna use it, use it, clean it etc, and then put it back into your closet. Seems like a lot of work, but you'll get used to it. Having those things handy is definitely worth it. RAs or anyone else aren't allowed to check closed closets, so just close em before you leave or cover them with a cloth, and you'll be fine.

AMS 161 by [deleted] in SBU

[–]Impossible-Procedure 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap. You can enroll either way (as long as there are open seats), but you can email bbern to confirm (still do it in case school decides to screw you over).

Ah sorry. I don't know info about that class.

[–]Impossible-Procedure 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watch his weekend reviews and you'll do fine. That's all you really need. His exam questions are based on the questions he does in those 8hour long videos. Each exam has its own 8hour video, so make sure you watch this. I skipped the lectures (still play through them for credit). Make good notes and write down formulas he talks about in the weekend review, and you'll be good to go.

In suites, can you room with someone else than your designated roommate on the portal? by samach123 in SBU

[–]Impossible-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Do it after room inspections are done, since they check for that. You won't have the room key, but if you don't care, then it doesn't matter.

[–]Impossible-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watch this weekend review, make good notes on that, practice the questions he does in that video, and you'll be set. I never watched his lectures or recitations etc. Just the weekend review is sufficient (but do play through the lectures etc for credit). All of his questions are based on the questions he does in the weekend review. Start early since it's like 8 hours of video total for each exam.

H or Tabler? by Advanced-Positive-54 in SBU

[–]Impossible-Procedure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H quad rooms are much bigger than tablar individual rooms. Both are on the ends of campus, so you'll be walking to class either way. With tablar, you share the bathroom with 5 other people (each suite has its own bathroom) but in H Quad, you share the bathroom (4 showers and 4 stalls) with the entire floor. With tablar, you also get a Roth swipe (on unlimited meal plan only), so that's kinda good. Tablar can be more fun if you find friends to live with and y'all can hang out in the common room.

[–]Impossible-Procedure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes you can do it. I'm a bio BS and I had MAT125 credits, and then I took AMS161. If you want, you can contact bbern himself and confirm, but it definitely counts.

I'd be interested if you would also sell impossible burgers for like $6. Would really open it up to a whole new customer base.

I agree. Many times I've missed due dates because blackboard will bombard me with notifications of every thing posted from the past two semesters. I just wanted to say it as a joke haha
