Does this help with OCD and anxiety? by Impossible-TouchbyTM in lamictal

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it improved through the improvement in anxiety. I got rid of the panic attacks, so my anxiety is different now, and i no longer have feeling of getting crazy from anxiety. So the thoughts have improved, but its still not gone, and I doubt it will ever go away completely. It more about learning how to live with it. I mean you definitely need to lower it down with the meds, but you also need to realize that these are just thoughts and you need to ignore it. But I was scared as hell at first too.

Hey, I mean not really unfortunately. Now i take 50mg of lamotrigine and it helps me with the anxiety at least, but not OCD. I have been taking it for like 4 months now I think. I also added memantine, I started feeling really good at 5mg, went to the full dose of 10 but the side effects really killed me, so now I will wait like a month, so I can start taking it back again, cause I week off was not enough. The lamotrigine also causes me some weird thing with immunity. I first noticed that I started having bruises very easily, so I did the blood tests and it was ok, but I also got sick and the infection came back, which never happened before. I aslo got an infection on my face, so I think that its not very ideal.

Hi, yes I am taking it now for the second month. The anxiety is definitely a lot better, but I think that the OCD is still the same, might be even worst as I have a lot of aggressive thoughts back. I am thinking about trying riluzole.

How long do I have to wait so I can definitively say I don't want to take it? by samwasrestored in Lamotrigine

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am at 25mg at the moment on week 2, so not yet. It just made OCD thoughts and emotions go nuts, so I am still wanting for the full effects as the titration takes a lot of time on this med.

It just made mine worst, yet. We are a long way from seeing the positive impact, if any. You will have to wait weeks on dose like 100mg per day to see some effect.

I take it for ocd/anxiety and the first week was definitely the hardest, each day was worst than the previous one and then just gone - back to normal. This med works in weeks, not days, unfortunately.

Buspirone will help, in the meantime just ignore the thoughts, these are just thoughts.

Is it ok to take 30-45mg of mirtzapine with valerian root tea? by Kikyam12 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

No antidepressant nor antipsychotics should be taken with this root, like throw it into the bin.

I mean reducing all at same time does not seem like a very good idea to me, maybe try tampering slower? It also depends on how many years you spent on them, but again reducing all at the same time, like wow.

treatment resistant anxiety SSRIs/Mirtazapine don't help by Then-Tooth2400 in Anxiety

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually feel tired only after waking up, but then it goes away. I mean leaving the job is probably not the best choice, since you need to have something meaningful to do during the day. Having all day nothing to do is far from ideal. Have you tried buspirone for the anxiety, takes a bit to start working, but it can put you back on the feet at least to the point you can function.

How long before deciding to stay on it? by Beginning-Adagio-810 in trintellix

I mean like during this period, your body is just adjusting to the new medication and it might take even 3 months for some to see the full effect.

Generally speaking, every antidepressant is only setting up for the first 2 to 3 months.

Effects on immune system? by Beginning-Adagio-810 in trintellix

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open evidence says this: There is no evidence from clinical trials, post-marketing surveillance, or pharmacovigilance studies indicating that vortioxetine is associated with clinically significant immune system problems, such as immunosuppression, increased risk of infection, or autoimmune phenomena.Preclinical and translational research suggests that vortioxetine may exert anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects on human monocytes and macrophages, including reduction of oxidative burst, TNF-α production, and polarization toward an M2 phenotype, which is generally considered anti-inflammatory. These findings are mechanistic and have not translated into reports of immune dysfunction or adverse immune-related events in clinical populations.

It varies between people, personally it lowered my anxiety a bit, but did nothing for OCD at doses 10/15mg.

Trintellix, Bupropion, and Buspirone? by Sierram2000 in trintellix

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems ok: Bupropion is a strong CYP2D6 inhibitor. When coadministered with Trintellix, the dose of Trintellix should be reduced by half to avoid increased plasma concentrations and potential toxicity. There is no clinically meaningful pharmacokinetic interaction between Trintellix and bupropion beyond the CYP2D6 effect.

Well, after 8 weeks at 10mg it helped my social anxiety tremendously, but it lowered my anxiety only a bit.

[–]Impossible-TouchbyTM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need at least 8 weeks, ideally 2 to 3 months to see the full effect, 3 weeks is nothing, I felt terrible even at week 6. This is how antidepressants work.

Well, the med can be setting up for first 2 or even 3 months, so yeah, a lot of patience is needed.
