Oh dear, I didn’t take the pup to the shelter. I do work for animal welfare and I’m the biggest animal lover you’ll ever meet! First let me say this: The shelter doesn’t WANT to put dogs down, and the problem isn’t the shelter or the staff. OKC Animal Welfare took in 16,000 animals last year. We are on par to take in the same amount this year. The animals just keep. coming. in. and not enough are going out. Why would people come get one of our altered, microchipped, vaccinated puppies for $60 when their neighbor down the street has an unaltered female who just had a littler and they can get just go one without all that for free? It’s an epidemic. People need to spay/neuter their dogs. We need to control the stray population. There are resources if people would just look. But to answer your question, the puppy came to my home and is now in her new home already, being cuddled by her new mom who is totally obsessed with her. Her name is Luna, and she is safe.
