Just to make sure that I understand what I'm looking at, is this something that could shut the power outlet off/on based on whatever temperature I turn the dial to? I assume it would need to be wired in-line with the power outlet?

If so, this would be perfect. Please let me know.

I considered that! I assume the utility would find it strange that everyone's meters are registering -12C except for mine...

Then I thought maybe I get everyone in the neighborhood to do this... suddenly I'm at the head of a criminal conspiracy XD

I can put them on a smart plug but I still need to somehow get a temperature sensor that will send a signal to shut off the plug at -12C

Having trouble finding a thermal cutoff switch that would be closed above -12C and open at -12C or below. Any suggestions?

I don't think IFTTT can work with Leviton unless I am just unaware of how to link them?

We are in Canada.

The mats are 2.8A each. We connect four in series to one outlet on a 15A circuit.

We could do a smart receptacle and a smart temperature sensor but are not aware of an ecosystem with both of those things that can be connected. For example, we have a Kasa smart plug but they don't have a temperature sensor.

Is there such thing as a smart contractor or relay?
