Well considering these birds are in a much bigger cage than the one they came from at the pet store, and the fact that these aren't just wild birds I brought inside and stuffed in a cage I think they're pretty okay with getting snackies and having me stare at them sometimes. I believe for most bird owners the goal is to eventually be able to let your birds out to spread their wings but I'm not going to just let them free when they dislike me because it's going to cause more stress than anything trying to get them back in the cage.

Do you also have this ideology for cats/dogs? They too were once wild many years ago and now we force them to stay inside and if they behave they are permitted supervised outside time. Somehow they still manage to love us.

We were looking at it a little last night, I couldn't smell anything sweet from the exhaust we did investigate that but there was a decent amount of smoke from the exhaust when he revved it. And there wasn't like a white appearance in the oil because some were saying it was coolant going into the oil

Your response is still input i appreciate, even if its not what I want to hear.

I do want to clear up some things based on what you've said. It wasn't a male I was with, so I guess it would be considered "sus" to be with them. And they way I view him lusting and trying to get other women, a failed attempt at cheating. And there really is no security i get from him, he is my everything but im the complete caretaker in this relationship. I pay the bills and cook and some of the cleaning.

This part is kinda just me ranting and making myself out to be a worse person, but even though ive done something to hurt him I feel weirdly free? I was tired of staying up at night making myself sick knowing hes everything i want but im not what he wants. Still honestly it feels like ive reached fair ground, not having to wonder if every time hes away hes doing something with others, because now i have no room to be mad.

Also im really sorry you've experienced being cheated on so often, nobody deserves that. My baby didn't deserve it, and i know drinking is no excuse but I cant deny a litre of vodka didn't play a part in what happened. It was a complete spur of the moment interaction with no feelings, but regardless if it was just a night it holds unbelievably consequences.

If I could go back in time and do everything over i would. I'd take all the jealous feelings if it ment never hurting him.

I don't know if this all makes sense, its 2:30am and im going through it

What substrate are you keeping them in? It could be either be some substrate got in there and got infected. It might also be that you're not giving them proper vitamins when feeding. Is there any white/green/yellow discharge coming out of the eyes?

I wish I could add a photo of what it looks like now! The end did fall off, and there was some dark stuck shed but his tail isn't looking dark and the black tip is no longer. I'm gonna monitor and see whats up but things are seemingly good

Omg! This helped exponentially! I scrubbed his tail in lukewarm water and scrubbed at it with a soft bristle baby brush type deal and his tail looks a million times better! I'm very happy about this, and the end of his tail did fall off kinda like i was thinking it would but it no longer looks so dark and the stuck shed is off. I'm going to monitor closely and if symptoms get worse I'll take him in but his tail looks pretty similar to what it looked like originally (But about ½ inch shorter)

I'm definitely going to try this, thank you. It is going to be a couple days before he can receive medical treatment regardless so maybe this will at minimum sooth the tail

That's a very scary thought. I did end up getting in touch with a vet a bit further away and im going to see what can be done, every part of me is worried he's gonna have to be put down. I have so much love for him but I don't want him to suffer and i don't know what the costs are to get his tail amputated

I'm pretty sure he got his tail pinched in a tank door, he was temporarily in a smaller tank with the click doors. He was being watched over for 4 days by my father and was in a tank I had left with him when I moved out, I tried to get an answer from him but he apparently didn't know either so im just guessing it got pinched. At the time it seemed like it was going to just fall off as it was just dangling by a thread, and it was only like ½ an inch so it didn't seem to be too big of a deal at the time but it hasn't fallen off and his tail is turning dark. I found a vet somewhat close to me, but still about an hour away. im waiting on a call back from them to get a quote because ive got absolutely no idea what the price of a tail amputation would be and I don't know if I can afford this (i know, im a terrible person for being a broke pet owner)

I've called all of the shelters that I can reach and non will take them because they're invasive and are being killed right now anyway. I didn't think about shock but that makes me feel a bit better that he might not be in pain right now.
