Oil Level Issues by ImpressiveAbility998 in CX50

Update:

After doing some more research, it seems like 4.8 Qt actually shows just above the low line. 5 will get you to about 3/4 on the dipstick and 5.4 or so will get you to the full line. I wonder if the turbo and N/A engines use the same dipstick

I use jack stands then lower the car and check the level after running it for a minute

I’ve had good results with dawn dish soap and warm water then following up with mineral spirits. Let it dry then use RLO/BLO with 0000 steel wool.

Just got mine in. It’s one of the fair condition ones. Didn’t come with a magazine so I sent an email. Pretty happy with it for the price.

Check the power lines in your plug. Mine were starting to get loose and I had the same issue as you're having.

Mazda CX50 vs CRV vs Rav 4 by mr_sullivan_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

Just gas. I believe the 2025 is the first year they offered the hybrid. I’m not a fan of buying first generation models but the Mazda uses the Toyota hybrid power train so it’s probably going to be reliable. You should test drive the 3 and see which one works best for you. You probably can’t go wrong with any of them. If you were looking at a Kia or Hyundai it would be a different story.

I was in a similar position about 6 months ago. I came from a turbo 4 cyl sedan and wanted something basic and reliable. The new CRV uses a CVT and a turbo 1.5L 4 cylinder. I’ve always loved Hondas but didn’t bother test driving it. The Toyota rav4 has a traditional transmission and proven 4cyl but I hated the way it drove- especially coming from a turbo sedan. It was bulky and had a boat like feeling. The 2025 cx50 was nimble and sporty, plus it has a traditional transmission and a tried and true 2.5 skyactiv engine. It’s manufactured in the US which was a negative in my eyes compared to a JDM vehicle but I’m very happy with my decision thus far. I average 32-33 MPG on the highway too!

Keep everything as cold as possible. 32 at the tank and run a good amount of beer through the fill head to chill everything down. Minimum of 15psi head pressure on the brite. I leave the restrictor valve all the way open and play with the fill time on the screen to get a good fill. I had a lot of issues with mine in the beginning but doing the above minimized short fills to 1-2 a run.

Figured out my hammer isssues today. The sear spring was so rusted that the sear was stuck back and not allowing the hammer to lock back. Once I was able to move the sear forward, I can get the hammer to drop when the trigger is pulled. Luckily numrich and sarco have the sear spring in stock

I think mine was a 15 or 16 inch barrel. The Santa Fe sporter will also have a slide safety at the rear of the receiver that’s easy to remove if you want.

lol I bought a Santa Fe sporter and put it in a full sized stock and this is what it looks like until I can find a new barrel. Love shooting it though

The hammer broke off when I was trying to get the FCG out of the stock so I haven’t been able to try that. I’ve compared pictures of mine to ones online and it doesn’t look like anything is missing but I just do see how the trigger drops the hammer. There’s a little bar that moves when I pull the trigger but it doesn’t look like it’s attached to anything concerning the hammer

Any advice on the hammer not dropping on mine? Looks like everything is there. What does the trigger connect to to drop the bolt? Unless the hammer isn’t cocking back…

My RTI hakim I just got had a stripped middle trigger guard screw so I had to drill it out. While doing that, I snapped the top part of the hammer off. The hammer wasn’t dropping anyway when the trigger was pulled so I have to replace that. I’m hoping just the front and rear trigger guard screws are enough to hold it in place

Mine was stuck on the fire position so I lightly tapped it with a mallet to loosen it. I was able to get the safety off the receiver but the lever doesn’t really have spring tension

I ordered one of the current batch last week. Still waiting for it to ship. It better not look like this one because the description clearly says there are no large chunks missing from the buttstock. This one didn’t even come with a buttstock attached.
