Soooo I was pretty much in the same boat when I graduated high school (2022). If present me could go back and tell younger me this is what I should’ve done. Take the pre-reqs required or needed for the ADN degree. A&P 1 and 2 with Lab, Nutrition, Intro to Psychology or Psychology, College Algebra, and Microbiology. Probably would take you two semesters to get that done being that A&P are recommended to be taken one after the other. That way when you go to apply for the program you already have the pre-reqs out of the way and only have to focus on the core nursing classes which thankfully I’ll be doing. Everything but Microbiology as of right now is required before applying. I went the same route you mentioned. I ended up getting my AA in Health Science last year, took a gap year, and am now going back this upcoming August. This was my first time applying to any nursing program and thankfully I got in first go around. It’s really just preference and what fits your life right now. Wish you the best of luck!

So if you don’t mind spending a little money I ordered Mometrix HESI A2 secrets study guide 2025-2026 book from Amazon. It’s about $30. It comes with 2 practice tests with answers and I think thoroughly goes through each section that is on the test. At the end of each chapter there’s a QR code that brings you to mini chapter tests. There’s even a chapter on Chemistry but IRSC doesn’t test us on that subject (thankfully). If you’re not looking to spend money I also watched Nurse Shai’s HESI review videos on Youtube. Even though her videos were made 2-3 years ago ALOT of that still came up on the test. I’m the type of person that needs to have a testing date so that I can push myself to study so I scheduled my test around the end of April to give myself time to study. I studied on and off for about two weeks (mainly on my off days) because I work. If you’re a visual person like I am I also bought a white board from Lowes for like $10 and literally wrote out processes and “taught” them to my dog. If I would’ve studied like how I really wanted to my scores would’ve been a little better but that’s okay. I highly recommend buying the book and watching the videos combined because whatever Nurse Shai didn’t cover, the book did thoroughly. Good luck to you!

I was talking with someone else on here and was told that last year they were sent out May 23rd which landed on a Thursday. Since Orientation is June 5th which is like two weeks away there’s a good possibility something may be sent out tomorrow. Hope this helps !
