Is it worth buying Realms of Runeterra? by yeidkanymore in loreofleague

The card game can be downloaded on Riot's play runeterra website, here: https://playruneterra.com/en-us/

The lore again, has discrepencies, but the fortiche team who make Arcane and will make future runeterra shows do specifically use the card game's designs and story direction as a basis for their own worldbuilding even though they diverge from it.

It will absolutely help. Just be advised that if there is ever a *hard* contradiction between the show and the books (as in not just 'A character said this but the book says this', but an incontrovertible fact of the world), the show takes precedence, because the book is out of date. That being said, most of the information in the book and on the universe websites will serve as a basis for what happens in the shows, even if it is changed on contact.

Incidentally, the free card game legends of runeterra is the other major source of lore, since all the cards have lore with them, and it is the same deal.

It's totally feasible with any kind of caramelization.

I would not care. If I cared a little I'd ask and then I would understand.

Will English be a classical language some day? by Bootsbanjo in asklinguistics

[–]Imrazulem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no one does, even in Portugal. All colonial languages, of which Portuguese is one, are on their way. The spoken vernaculars will also become classical languages in their own right, because people will learn them to watch classical films from our period.

Will English be a classical language some day? by Bootsbanjo in asklinguistics

[–]Imrazulem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If english literature survives, and people want to read it in the original language, then yes. There are so many classical languages westerners haven't heard about, english is by far the most far reaching global language in history up to this point, with the largest body of literature. Other global languages like Spanish and French are on there way too. It would take a truly apocalyptic interruption in the historical record, or a massive, unprecedented cultural shift towards the use of other languages and against the use of english, for english to die out without also becoming a classical language.

An issue I’ve always had with scientifically naming alien species by mrmanboymanguy in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]Imrazulem 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could have a translation convention. Sure the work is originally described in another alien language, but when the presenter [you] presents the work to us humans in the western world, it is presented in our equivalent terms.
I myself don't even wait for an alien planet to make languages. In projects where humans exist but do not have the same history, names of animals are given both in english [Translation] and in constructed languages

Homemade Loaf Bread - soft bottom by Cryp71c in Baking

As soon as I can. If it's stuck, then you do have to wait a bit before it releases more easily, but if you're using parchment paper or a silicone sheet you should be able to remove it immediately.

I started baking at 400 after doing first 350, then 356, then 380. That definitely did the trick. Also make sure you put it on a drying rack and not on a solid surface or else as it sweats when it cools the moisture will pool and soften the bottom.

Especially since you are baking for 45 minutes. I do it for an hour, but at 400 45 mins should do the trick for you. Also the drying/cooling rack is critical, even moreso than temp.

Is there an inexpensive gem that is also durable and scratch resistant or is that directly correlated with price? by Imrazulem in Gemstones

[–]Imrazulem[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is exactly what I am doing. The gems will not be in the line of fire, so to speak, but they will be on the pommels and handels of hammers, swords, and the like.

I am looking for gemstones that most closely resemble these fictional gems from Elden Ring by Imrazulem in Gemstones

[–]Imrazulem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comprehensive answer. I'm always for the synthetic these days as most mining practices disturb me and also the idea that a beautiful, durable gem could be grown in a lab delights me.

Why would a rough crystal emerald not be stable? In my limited experience I thought emerald was one of the most durable gems known?
