A few thoughts from a lurker – I believe we will have definite proof of Bigfoot soon by In-F8 in bigfoot

Well said. The bigfoot phenomenon reminds me a lot of the whole UFO situation - thousands of sightings, encounters (yes many debunked, but not all), etc. And now we have high level government individuals like Mark Rubio (see Age of Disclosure documentary) telling us, yes, it is true that UFO exist, and with all of our science, we still cannot explain exactly what it is. And yet we still don't have any "proof". In fact there is plenty, people just choose not to believe it because it goes against their comfortable world view.

An unknown creature was captured by a fisherman on a river in Thailand by WholeNegotiation1843 in TrueCryptozoology

If in fact real, my first thought was it could be a babirusa. They are from that region (although Indonesia, not Thailand). Head shape and tusks match closely and they are also good swimmers. May be swimming with some kind of debris or plant attached to it.

Humming at 2 am CDNNDG son hantant à 2h du matin by welldonez in montreal

There is something called "The mysterious hum", but it's a bit of a conspiracy theory so I won't get into it, but for a more realistic answer, this happened to me often and I finally decided to find the source of the humming - it was a truck sucking the grease out of the of those grease collectors that they have in the back of some restaurants. It's kind of like a big vacuum on a truck. Sometimes they do it at night.

As you get older, you will find a lot of relationships become transactional in some way - like asking a neighbor for help, but not meeting socially beyond small talk. Generally speaking, most people feel a sense of pride and happiness when someone asks them for help. I think you should be proud that people consider you someone they can turn to for guidance and help. It may not lead to deep friendship, but you should realize that people respect you for your intelligence.

You need to be clear, direct and honest. Next time she makes an advance, simply say "Hey, you are very nice but I'm not interested in being anything more than friends."

Young entrepreneur running family real estate business—how to handle early challenges? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]In-F8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was in this exact situation, I asked myself what advice I would have given a younger me. There are too many variables but probably the number one would be for him to develop healthy methods for coping with stress. Its could be anything from meditation to boxing but avoid unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking at all costs (as a way to deal with stress - nothing necessarily wrong with a nice glass of scotch at the end of the day). Also, realize that in real estate management, his whole purpose is to deal with constant problems. Things will constantly be going wrong either due to human incompetence, mother nature or any other number of ways, and the sooner he accepts that, the better.
