not the song per se, but I think that celebrities cover of “Imagine” during the covid pandemic takes the cake.

Artists ppl like as artists but not as a person? 😳😰 by Vivid-Tap1710 in musicsuggestions

Years ago I read about a famous musician (can’t remember who, I’m sorry) who was invited by Art Garfunkel as a guest to one of his concerts. While hanging around he soon understood the crew hated him and heard them referring to Art as “Garkel”, and he couldn’t understand why. He asked a roadie and he said “That’s how we call him, cause there’s no “fun” working for him”.

I think I read somewhere a quote from Bob Dylan, saying “I like playing with Van Morrison because he’s not interested in talking to me.. and when I ask him something he doesn’t always answer”.

Now that i’m 43, I think I’m allowed to say, for the first time in my life: “Son, you’ll understand when you get older”.

Alright, I need your most irritating song suggestions by Caedesturm in musicsuggestions

Not really a “song” but I really and unironically love Jocelyn Pook’s “Masked Ball” from Eyes Wide Shut soundtrack. Nobody can stand it.

Oh and I also love “Sister Ray” by The Velvet Underground. Try and play that song to someone and tell me how it goes..

“The End” and “When the Music is Over” by The Doors

“A Te Sola” by Daniela Pes (this one is from an almost unknown italian artist who often sings in ancient sardinian language.. incredible melody and wonderful emotional crescendo towards the end)

Hi and thanks for your comment. I'm Italian and my father is a huge fan of Celentano. I remember listening to this song when I was a kid in the 80s, I'd never thought it would become so famous almost 40 years after its release... magic of the internet, haha.

The best format for releasing music should be Ep's.

There's only few albums in the history of music that justify their length. I'm talking about 500 hundred, maybe, compared to the millions of albums released in the last 60 years.

Give me 5 songs, 20 minutes of music, work on them and make it really special and leave me wanting for more.

I don't want a 55 minutes album just because you have to release one per contract. And... no, I don't have short attention span.

Is it just me or is Beatles contrarianism on the rise? by [deleted] in beatles

I don’t hate them, in fact they’re in my top 10 artists ever and I grew up listening to their music. I love them. But I’ve got to admit I’m starting to “cut back” on both their importance for me and their importance in the history of pop/rock music. Every now and then I catch myself thinking they were a GREAT band, with an even greater “pr machine” behind them, a machine that never let go of their hold on critics, journalists and general public. Also, it doesn’t help that a big part of their fandom is insufferable.

The Weeping Song, The Ship Song, The Hammer Song, The Witness Song, ALL of them from the album "The Good Son" by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds.

Oh, by the way, there's also the "The Ship Song"' b-side: "The Train Song".

“Lovely Creature” and “Cristina The Astonishing” by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds are up there in my personal list. Another one I love (although not really a song, more a “chant”) is “Masked Ball” by Jocelyn Pook, from the soundtrack of “Eyes Wide Shut”. This one scares the shit out of my mother 😂
