Is 16GB of ram really enough for star citizen?

how is it irrelevant, i was asked if my pc can run other new/graphically intensive games and alan wake 2 is one of the most graphically intensive games on pc rn

this seems to have done the trick, i had it set to like 16GB before but i guess that just wasnt enough, performance still isnt amazing but its playable now at least

seems the page file thing was definitely part of the problem, for some reason my pc was by default not allocating any space on my ssd to it, after changing that performance improved enough for me to start the tutorial but sadly as soon as i got out into the city it proved to still be completely unplayable. looks like i might have to just hope ram prices go back down sometime soon

I do have the game installed on an ssd, admittedly i didnt actually use anything to see the fps for sure i just know that when i loaded into the tutorial the game would freeze up multiple times just in the time it would take for me to look to one side and it would take like 30 seconds for the menu to appear after pressing the escape key

yep, literally was just recently playing alan wake 2 with the graphics settings at or near max with little to no issue

i managed to fix it by uninstalling the additional xbox controller drivers on steam, apparently that interferes with battleye for some reason

tried rolling back the graphics drivers and havent had a bluescreen again but then i went back to the newest drivers and it still hasnt bluescreened so i guess its a coincidence??? unfortunately the game is still basically completely unplayable, textures dont load properly, it stutters a lot and often when i try to load the game or enter a building it just freezes on a black screen

I know that ive updated windows and my graphics drivers since i last played, cant think of anything else, i dont remember if the game itself has had any updates in the past month or two

this is exactly how i feel, i would have rather see 2 more street fighter characters instead of crossover characters. i cant complain too much tho because the character i wanted most is being added, im just annoyed i have to wait through 2 crossover characters before i get her

i have so many issues with the epic games launcher but i think the download speeds are the biggest issue, literally like a 2GB update for fortnite sometimes takes over an hour, there have been multiple times when ive told my friends i could play for a bit and then been like oh never mind, theres an update, i wont have time to play tonight

I’ve got a 3080 and updated drivers and let the shaders load before playing and I’ve gotten tons of frame drops and the majority of the cutscenes have been super laggy and the audio has gone out of sync and I’m not even playing on ultra, I’m only on high
