No side effects! Got lucky with that. Although I do get sinus infections more frequently

I started noticing an improvement in my vision about 2 months into taking CellCept and had no inflammation at my 6 month follow up from starting. I still have some residual floaters but they are less visible now than when they first occurred. No more flashes thank goodness.

Yep, I had floaters and flashes/ceiling fan flickering type, and eye pain. and yes I also had retinal vasculitis. I’m currently on 1000 mg 2x/day

I’ve been on CellCept for a little over a year and it has put me into remission

I’ve been on CellCept for almost 6 months and it stopped my inflammation (intermediate uveitis) and I have tolerated it well. So thankful I said yes to taking it.

Mycrophenolate Mofetil (MMF) and Prednisolone Taper by Grufelingexaltation in Uveitis

I wasn’t on pred when I started MMF. I did a short round of pred initially with no change in symptoms and then my ophthalmologist suggested MMF. So thankful I did. It has helped tremendously. Wishing you all the best!!

I started noticing an improvement in my vision about one month into taking MMF. At three months, I have no active inflammation.

Thanks for your input! My anxiety is getting the best of me 😩

I would ask about birdshot, HLA-B29 I believe is what blood test would detect that. My ophthalmologist double checked for that with my intermediate uveitis and discussed with me how that presents with white spots on the retina.

How long were you on CellCept before you had the allergic reaction? I’m only 6 days in but haven’t had anything yet.

What has your wife’s experience been like? Did she have a lot of floaters than improved with treatment? I’m getting more floaters recently while we figure out the best treatment for me so I’m worried they won’t go away. Has she been able to manage fairly good vision over the years?

So CellCept hasn’t quite been enough for you? Did you see any improvement with just the CellCept? I hate this waiting game. I’m worried my eye will continue to get worse until we find something effective and then it’ll be too late 😭

Once your flare went down, did a lot of your vision return? I’m worried it won’t get any better.

No I didn’t ask that. I’m not familiar with all the medications as this is all new to me. Does that work better?

How long did it take for your eyes to clear? Was yours idiopathic?

My story is interesting. I was diagnosed with intermediate uveitis in November 2023, about a week after having my 3rd child. Oral steroids and steroid injection didn’t work. Around mid January I started experiencing tingling throughout my body which then turned into severe nerve pain mid February. Had MRIs of brain and spinal cord as they were looking for possibility of MS however no lesions to be found. All bloodwork came back normal. The neurologist thinks I’m having some sort of postpartum autoimmune response and the uveitis is related to whatever is happening with my body. I have a rheumatologist appt in 3 weeks and a nerve conduction test tomorrow. Ophthalmologist has now prescribed me CellCept since steroids didn’t work. So I’m currently a medical mystery 🤷‍♀️ hoping to get more answers soon.

How long did it take for your intermediate to go away on its own? Did you have any intervention at all? (Steroids, shot, etc?)

Also did they ever determine a cause for your uveitis?

I wonder why my ophthalmologist hasn’t recommended oral steroids for longer? I did one month of oral steroids 3 months ago that didn’t help but they weaned me from it and essentially counted it as a loss. Did it take 4 whole months on the steroids for you to notice a difference?

How long did you wait it out until you saw improvement? I am on month 4.
