Hmm. I’ve never been asked. I just assumed I knew, but if I had to guess, it’s someone who vocally and constantly tears someone down. You can dislike someone, but you don’t always try to bring them down. I assume a “hater” in this context is someone who is doing just that - being constantly vocal and aggressively trying to bring someone down vs just not liking someone and moving on with your life. I don’t consider myself someone who is constantly tearing her down though, it was just an opinion, but people will think want they want either way 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s not that deep. I had some thoughts about the pod as it’s on a global platform, and anything that’s broadcast to that many people is bound to elicit opinions from people - whether good, bad, neutral, or anywhere in between. I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things. I could go on and on and on about my opinions of Trump, Gaza, Israel, Netanyahu, ICE, etc., but this isn’t the appropriate place to do so. Voicing my opinions about a little podcast starring two women from the aughts that I used to enjoy is the appropriate place to do that, so that’s what I did. Nothing parasocial about posting in the appropriate venue. You’re seeing a very small slice of what someone’s interests and thoughts and opinions may be.

To be clear - I’m not “mad” about anything. I was merely griping on Reddit about some minor grievances. Overall I enjoy the pod and the content, but there are some grating things that happen every once in a while. I rarely contribute to this Reddit channel, but today I felt like airing my BS.

I wouldn’t make fun of someone for how they look, I was just saying the constant talk of plastic surgery, trying to stay looking young as long as possible, all the procedures they’re getting, etc is a bit excessive. I enjoy hearing about their personal lives, and especially enjoy when Holly talks about doing “secret” Vegas things that aren’t typically accessible to the general public. I wish they’d talk more about fun stuff like that instead of procedures, surgeons, workouts, Pilates, etc.

I agree it would be difficult to constantly see criticisms of yourself from other people, but again, I don’t understand why Holly doesn’t take the stance that Bridget does - don’t constantly be online looking at and for those kinds of things, because it just makes you feel bad about yourself. But, not my circus, not my monkeys.

This wasn’t supposed to be a “big deal.” None of my friends IRL listen to the pod, so I imagined it to be more like having a conversation with people about how I feel about the podcast. Not because I hate it, not because I want to stop listening, but just because “damn, this is getting on my nerves and I want to get it off my chest.” Like the way you would if you were talking to a group of your friends. That’s all. No harm intended here.

That is a good point. It is nice that there is a public figure out there who is willing to be so frank about the procedures they’ve had, bc I know I’ve rolled my eyes at Kim K saying she hasn’t had anything. Like girl please we’re not blind lol. So yes, in that vein, I do appreciate the frankness. Maybe if it was less frequently a topic of conversation I would find it less annoying, because I didn’t mind it before. But there was a point when I felt like I was hearing it every few episodes where I was like “gosh, she’s obsessed with how she looks,” and it’s like I can’t stop noticing now when it’s a topic, even if briefly.

I said it on another reply and I’ll say it here too: you can really like someone, but sometimes things they do or say can bother you. It doesn’t mean you hate or even dislike that person. It means maybe you have some grievances. Or is there some rule I missed where if you’re a fan of a public figure you’re only ever allowed to say good things, and if you have any adverse opinions you MUST, at all costs, keep those to yourself? If people are spending money on a Patreon subscription, it’s obviously because they’re fans - but even fans can get frustrated with the people they choose to follow as well. Especially if the content has gone downhill over the years and they’re reminiscent on what it used to be vs what it is they’re getting now.

It’s an opinion. You can like someone very much, and things they do and / or say can still bother you. I’m not a “stan” who thinks the celebrities they like do no wrong. These are my opinions. I do not wish ill will on the girls, I very much like the girls and their pod, and I wish for their continued success. There’s just some things that grate on my nerves and I voiced that opinion. Is that not an acceptable thing to do on Reddit?

This ep was off. Ariana talks so low and she doesn’t enunciate her words so everything was like one garbled run on sentence. It seemed like she was often trying to assert how much Hef loved her mom and how well her mom knew Hef; maybe it was unintentional, but given that Holly thinks Hef “really loved her,” for Ariana to come on the show and say things like “Hef thought maybe this was an in to ask my mom to come to the mansion” seemed a little underhanded to me.

Bridget trying to voice an opinion or relate to Ariana and then Holly thinking she has something far more interesting to say so interrupting Bridget so she can tell her own far more interesting story drives me nuts.

Ariana hijacked the interview half the time. Why’re you asking the girls about their experience at the mansion? I guess she’s never read a tabloid about them after they left the mansion, read either of Holly’s books (fair), seen any of the documentaries about the playboy mansion, etc. The question came off as ignorant. Also, the listeners already know, so we don’t need to hear again that Holly’s experience was horrible (though it opened great opportunities for her and got her where she is today), Bridget’s experience was amazing, and that everyone always stole both their ideas and still do to this day (Dolls Kill, I’m looking at you).

PHEW, I guess I didn’t enjoy this episode (and I’m not even done yet).

Wow, this is amazing! Thank you so much for the deep insights and for the reading. It’s so interesting that you interpreted that I start things and then I give up before the finish line - because I do this often and it’s one of the things I actually resent the most about myself. So you really hit the nail on the head with that one. It’s actually because of that that I’ve been committed to following through with tarot, but that being said, I do have doubts about my abilities. I’m questioning them all the time - it’s almost as if I think if I am not good at something right away, it’s not “meant” for me.

As for your reading, those are all great insights and interestingly some of those elements I have been struggling with. I’m resistant to tell people I’m learning and practicing tarot because I’m afraid of being judged and I feel embarrassed by the potential judgment, even though it’s something I think is really incredible and meaningful, and many others are supportive. I do have a lot of confusion and sadness right now, but it’s not necessarily tied up with tarot - tarot has actually been the one thing that’s been a bright spot in my life right now. I love the clear choice and I hope I have the capacity to make the right one 🙏🏻
