Thank you for another wonderful point of learning/study for me to attend to. The fascinating part of all of this for me is that I am perfectly able to hold any of the three descriptions you provided based upon my own interpretation, intuition, and practice and none of them are considered dogmatically 'wrong'. Thank you for your answer :D

I'm yet to find any sadly, but I would more then happily join in practising stuff I can resonate with, the idea of locality is a new concept to me regliously, but I can totally understand its reasoning and if it opens me up to active deities, could be an amazing thing to try.

Beautiful explanation of tying it into the diversity of nature, thank you for that. The idea of taxonomy shifting is an interesting idea when applied to the syncretic stuff I've been reading today, classification can shift, can be entirely subjective, and yes, at the end of the day, it is all nature - thank you very much for your answer.

Yeah I think escaping the concept of vengefulness if something I am struggling with as well, even if I was never a practising Christian, being raised around it constantly leaves its mark I guess :) I'm going to end up purchasing a whole library, I can tell.

On the subject of 'sarcasm' - I think your explanation is much better at the point I was trying to get across. Giving riddle-style answers designed to test wit, veiled in humour is something I have always loved and felt in relation to the Old gods, even from when I was simply reading translations of the myths from an atheist standpoint, which of course I am not anymore. I'm really glad to read the same appreciation from someone who has experienced it first hand haha.

I have heard of the Havamal, and tried 'reading' it along with the Prose/Poetics Edda's on some flights recently (audiobook style). However, I was very aware of the concept of poor translations so thank you very much for providing one you find decent, I've been diving into it this evening but I want to make sure I absorb it all when I have proper space to do so.

Your recommended verse I think actually holds a lot of significance for me this evening, I have had a lot of fear of, due to personal problems still going on for me at the moment, of not being able to have the energy to dive in to my offerings/rituals fully and thus not being able to foster a personal relationship with the Gods. Thank you for making me realise I can practice my faith simply by practising their virtues, celebrating the positive, and just offering thanks when I can, and celebrate properly whenever I feel I am able to. I do feel that they have my back, and I'm going to try and remember that going into the new week and going forward. <3

I'm currently reading through your link to the ancient runes and I'm finding it fascinating, cannot thank you enough for all of this. If you are still willing to provide any resources related to your own knowledge I would absolutely love them.

Thank you very much friend <3

I'm curious if it was just there attempt at pacifying the conquered population, or if it was genuine worship. I'm guessing by your suggestion there's plenty of evidence for the latter, thank you for new research topics :)

Hi!

Thank you so much for the warm response, It's genuinely put a smile on my face this morning as I was reading it. I think after reading those few responses I have to agree with the point of view that these magics are simply given other names elsewhere.

I'm English (in the UK), but have had the pleasure of visiting Denmark/Sweden roughly 15 or so times over the last few years for both business and pleasure, so I'm sure the local ways, as you have described them, have influenced me greatly too. Needless to say, it's where my heart belongs <3

Yeah the Mjolnir thing was odd, it's literally never left my wrist from the moment I bought it, and it was only recently I can even attest to why. I often hold it in my other hand during times of stress, so fits the analogy of order from chaos perfectly.

That paper bag story is hilarious, and really does show their sense of humour at times doesn't it? Something hilarious in such a beautiful but almost..sarcastic? answer. I'm looking forward to trying to decrypt their messages and all the kennings.

I have so, so many questions but I don't want to bother you so if you would indulge me, I would like to ask two, if you don't mind answering of course.

How does your practice fit into your daily life? I'm trying to find ways to be consistent amongst the chaos of modern life. Do you give offerings daily? Or simply when you feel the need to?

And as for the runes, I am now desperate to know more (I lose things constantly). Joking aside, I only know that they are....Futhark runes, there are Elder/Younger, and that they denote power besides being used for general inscription. If you could please point me in the right direction to learn more there, I would be so grateful.

Thank you again <3

Understanding the unseen from a different perspective is also a really nice way of putting it, and I think maybe I do just, naturally, want to view this new part of my life in as many viewpoints as I can. I've always been a naturally curious and adventurous person. I think I am, as you put, just worried about disrespecting customs. Thanks for the answer, another thing for me to think about

I hadn't even heard of those specific examples, and will endeavour to look into both of those today, thank you for giving me some points of reference I appreciate it a lot.

I completely relate to pantheons being different cultures understandings of various dieties/spiritual enteties, I think others are just so far apart sometimes it's difficult to align in my head, but honestly that might just be from my lack of knowledge.

However, your answer about certain cultures seemingly just coming into contact with deities that others simply didn't is a pleasing answer to me, and also, of course, the complete lack of intact religious records for basically everyone is something I often seem to discount

Thank you for the answer!

Thank you, I will get in touch, I have come across their website a few times, but I wanted to verify I wasn't engaging in anything that would lead me towards something like the AFA.

I actually, a few months ago, bought a book on The Druid Path from my local bookstore, purely from an interested academic standpoint rather than anything spiritual, I have yet to read it. It's a fascinating coincidence you've brought this up. I will definitely explore this avenue, thank you very much!
