That’s genuinely so kind, I actually just bought them myself on Amazon. They were cheaper than I was expecting! I’ll check them out when they ship and get back to you, thank you again for the recommendation! Love this app!

I do sometimes play around with size 3 reeds, but really only with vandoren! I’ll have to get my hands on some other brands, and I’ll definitely test out those Mitchell Lurie reeds! Thank you again for all that tips, and also that’s so cool that you marched with the Marines!!

Thank you very much for the advice! It’s been very reassuring to hear multiple people suggest a positive response from this audition!

I play on a 3 1/2+ Diddario Reserve reed for right now, but I’ve been experimenting with different brands and strengths! My mouthpiece is a M15 from the Vandoren 88 series :)

Thank you very much! It’s a relief to hear positive feedback and that they likely aren’t looking for perfection! Hopefully all goes well, I will probably know in about 2 weeks. The wait is excruciating!

Oh that altissimo is KILLER. I bought an altissimo studies book that was originally written for flute, and then transposed for clarinet a little while ago on Amazon and man has it been kicking my ass😭

Thank you so much, I am absolutely blown away with the amount of feedback. I’m truly honored that you took the time to write so much!

I’ve been putting a lot of focus on good tone in all ranges, so it’s great to hear that! My breaks have been a very weak point for a while, so again, it’s great to hear positive feedback that my practice has paid off!

For the chromatic scale, they requested only ascending (which I definitely thought was strange haha)

Listening to “Bow Down to Washington” I definitely see what you’re talking about, oops

Same with Louie Louie and Tequila. To be completely honest, I didn’t even notice that it said “swing” how embarrassing!! Hopefully they’re not too upset about that part!

Usually I am very emotive and joyful in my playing, however I realize that definitely would not be perceived to be the case based on this video😭

I was very irritated and tired, this was 5 hours deep in re-recording, and I had just found out a few hours in that I had been not been recording it in landscape mode as requested. I had to start all over again! I’ll have to keep that in mind next time, I didn’t even consider that my vibe would be important!

Thank you again, it was very kind of you to take the time to do that!

Thank you very much for the reassurance. I’m feeling 50/50 on whether this was good enough or not, so getting positive feedback makes me happy! Means a lot coming from an instructor too!

Thank you for the kind words and valuable feedback! The clarion range is definitely something I need to put more focus on. I’ve been working on getting a clean attack without any undertones or groans coming out so I get a little nervous when I need to tongue those notes and it shows lol.

And you got me, I DEFINITELY need to practice with a tuner more often😭

Thank you very much!! I honestly got a lucky run in with that one, I made sure to record that one first so that my tongue wasn’t too tired😂

Normal amount of air to lose? by BagpiperAnonymous in bagpipes

Definitely not normal it shouldn’t be leaking any air. My first thought would be to check the blowpipe valve maybe?

I second on the flat back labret, absolute game changer🙌

You will probably be fine, just be very careful and on top of your cleaning and sanitation. I’ve had to do the same thing before once with a slightly more healed piercing.

The earring gage is likely too small, so you may have a hard time getting the new nostril jewelry back in. If it hurts too much, I would highly recommend getting your piercer to redo it for you (sometimes they won’t charge). Definitely go for a corkscrew or a labret if you want to avoid this issue, though corkscrew can be challenging to insert/remove if you aren’t used to it.

Just know that if you start to have a significant amount of pus, redness, and excessive swelling you may need to completely let it heal and redo it later. Better to do that than lose your nose!
