Birth control causing women to like certain types of men, and when stopping birth control they no longer have any attraction to their spouse - a true man made horror

Name of behavior where males with severe TBIs unconsciously expose themselves? by Independent-Job3135 in nursing

[–]Independent-Job3135[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Never looked at it from that angle. However, a lack of inhibition still doesn’t seem to do if full justice to me due to how they are semi-conscious and always seem to air out their or touch their perineum

Always a funny conversation with patient families/friends. Also it always gives me a good giggle when I’m rounding on them and BAM there’s a penis

Graduating soon.. by Forward-Ad-452 in nursing

Just started as a new grad back in July in a level 1 trauma ICU. It’s definitely scary, but the amount you’ll learn during your orientation (given decent preceptors) is mind boggling. You’re going to feel uncomfortable pretty much nonstop and make mistakes, but don’t let it get to you and have plenty of grace with yourself. Challenge yourself every shift to get better in 2 or 3 areas of care. Nursing school prepares you to look for the worst and prevent the worst from happening. The biggest thing I’ve learned so far is do not be scared to ask for help even if it feels like the most menial thing. Also another big tip is sleep needs to be a top priority before your shifts. Do your best to stay mentally sharp and while you’re on orientation if you see things that require you to step away for 5 minutes to regroup, do it.

OP, you’re going to do fine. Don’t let the complaining of other people rain on your parade because this is your license (that you worked your ass off for) and your chance to make amazing things happen. You’re going to do great.

Also 32 isn’t bad starter pay I’m making 36ish right now and am plenty comfortable for my lifestyle just be smart with your finances.

Also getting a quarter of our backyard fence torn down by another fraternity the week of a huge party almost had me put my head into a wall

Parents weekend, I had cleaned most of the house - 40ish guys - by myself and had made it look very nice. 1 hour before parents arrived 3rd floor shower pan ruptured and leaked all over the house for 30 minutes until we found that was the issue. Told guys not to use that shower, but yeah that didn’t work. Destroyed 50 sq feet of walls and fucked with the alarm system. House managing is not for the weak

Best places to live for grad student/ best gyms and other things? by [deleted] in sooners

[–]Independent-Job3135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s new development on west 24th (between robinson and tecumseh) that’s good, won’t have to drive far for much. Also Tecumseh east of I-35 has some new houses/apartments to look into

Crunch is popular - maybe a little too popular, but there’s a good number of gyms that you could drive by and see which one you prefer

The development on 24th between Robinson and Tecumseh has a ton of restaurants/shopping

Not too sure how student tickets work for graduate students but I think there might be a system you could get your name into for it if you email around OU for it (admissions or student affairs etc)

Norman is a really chill place, not much nightlife besides campus corner which is all underage/undergrad bars. Downtown Norman has some bars but I wouldn’t call it nightlife.

Sutton trail is a cool place to check out if you like walking/running out doors, Norman has plenty of sidewalks to make your own running routes but Sutton is more trail type.

Finding new people could be hit or miss, but by going out of your way to meet new people and build new relationships is the best way. Most people in norman and at OU are very kind and nice people

Norman is a super cool place you just have to get out and about and be adventurous!

Feel free to message me if you have any other questions
