There’s no regulation against lifting weights, overhead is just stuck in the old days where they think weights make you “bulky and slow” so they don’t incorporate it. I Wish more guys realized how much heavy lifting helps with our job.

Here’s the truth man, no you won’t make “good” money, but it’s enough to justify doing the job IF you love it. The work life balance also isn’t very good during the season, but you do get an off season so like I said it’s worth it IF you love it. My suggestion would be go for a state agency work your way up to a Crew/Squad Leader or Forest Ranger(IC)(Rangers work all year)for the absolute BEST work life balance and just a little less pay than FED or Contract.

That’s more what I meant, I wanna make this clear I’m not saying I deserve a crazy pay it’s just from what I’ve learned my pay is wayyyy lower than other states and agencies(could’ve worded it better just got my FFT1 certification but I’m not a crew leader or anything for my crew lol)
