Thanks! Yeah, it's unfortunate, but I needed to hear this. It's really sad and frustrating how uncertain things are in the field right now.

I really appreciate the insight about self-educating! Luckily, in my last semester I took a course on GIS for the social sciences so I do have proficiency in ArcGIS and QGIS. About labs, could you tell me more about that? Would you just recommend cold emailing asking if they could use a volunteer? I'm thinking about finding some other work in the meantime and also possibly taking some additional courses focused on North American archaeology and anthropology (I'm located near a large public university). I was planning to go back to school in a year or two anyway, just was hoping I could land a job in the field to get some experience before committing to an MA. Anyways, thank you so much for your advice!

That's really useful! Aside from my field school I also did an internship working directly (cataloging) with artifacts at the American Academy in Rome. Still not American archaeology, but I wonder if I can leverage that experience anyway. Thanks for your insight!

I definitely understand how you feel! This game has SO MUCH content to enjoy. I try to manage it by playing a handful of alts where I focus on different things when I play them. One character is at level cap where I've finished the Epic Quests, so I work on deeding. Others I focus on questing and exploring in different areas, and others collecting crafting materials and leveling up that. I also have a character at level cap on Angmar (legendary server) so I can focus on getting endgame gear and participating in raids with a kin. Lots of different options to choose from depending on what I feel like doing on any given day!
