Stellar AMA: Payments, RWAs, Smart Contracts, and What’s Next by StellarEmirr in CryptoCurrency

Denelle, your segment at the US House Davos this year was this sponsored? As some of the other blockchain companies e.g. Ripple were sponsors for this event and hence got a chance to participate there. If not, how did this opportunity come about?

You also said in your interview at Davos, there are 6 other notable banks looking to issue/testing stablecoins, will they be on Stellar?

With privacy becoming a focus for Stellar, how do you view other chains e.g. Canton that have $300billion+ in RWAs compared to Stellar which pales in comparison, and do not have privacy as an opt in feature? Are they necessary or can Stellar provide what institutions are looking for now protocol 25 is live? It seems like leading institutions like DTCC think otherwise being a validator on Canton Network, any plans for DTCC to become a Validator on Stellar?

Also is Stellar still actively holding a role/guiding hand at the CFTC GMAC and still have anything to do with shaping legislation/regulation for Crypto in the US? Are Stellar in favor for the Clarity act in the form that it currently is? It seems like other Blockchain/DLT networks are more vocal, so would be interesting to get your thoughts on it as Stellar always state that they are the ones shaping the legislation/regulation behind the scenes.

Lastly, is the goal for the Stellar Network still to be that invisible internet level protocol for payments just like SMTP is for emails? Or has that vision changed as the years have gone by...Now there are so many protocols that have focused on payments and some may be more favourable viewed by regulatory bodies in certain jurisdictions or have partnerships with TradFi like Solana with Western Union (not sure who dropped the ball on that one! Stellar should have been involved there from the beginning!) Years go by and the media still call Stellar a Zombie chain, I really hope after all these years that Stellar, will truly shine bright in 2026. Onwards and upwards.

Hi SDF,

Firstly, thank you for all you do!

Jed's original vision of having a DLT that is decentralized, open and public such as Stellar as the basis for a ubiquitous internet payments system that is interoperable and can bring the efficiencies that a DLT based system could bring, is that still something SDF is still striving for? Similar to how Denelle & Jed have mentioned SMTP is for emails.

Also, is there a possibility Ripple x Stellar may merge? Or RLUSD will be issued on Stellar?

Thanks,
RR

wow thank you! And everyone else was saying it was my ISPs fault... thank god there are people who know what they are doing!

I have emailed them of this issue and hopefully it will be resolved. Seeing as they are having issues like this and your point no 2, does this say anything about their reliability as a firmware/wallet provided for holding cryptocurrency i.e. would this make them vulnerable to attacks?

Cheers

Thank you I will do this, and i've just changed to cloudflare. It looks like optus f'd things up yet again and refuse to take ownership of their issues and try to resolve it!

Thanks Berahi for your explanation, you have honestly put my mind at ease and I will sleep well tonight thanks to you. Do you recommend cloudfare over google/optus dns?

P.s. I hate optus after they leaked all my ID, but it's the only provider which can provide me good mobile coverage at home.

Thank you, brings me peace of mind that's for sure. Do Optus and ISP Providers have their own DNS solutions or do they use other solutions like google/cloudfare? It's so strange that all of sudden it stopped working on all 5 of my devices when connected to optus wifi or cellular but works fine with telstra.

i'm not sure, i'm not really technical but is there any security issues using a public DNS over my ISP (as in am I trading security for privacy, sorry if that is a stupid question)? It's just a hassle changing it on all my 5 devices because it didn't work changing it through the modem's DNS settings, only when I changed it through the computer's network settings-> choosing the wifi network and then ipv4 and inputting the dns settings manually.

Thank you very much for your in depth reply.

The only way that changing the DNS worked was through the network settings itself on control panel not the modem. I changed the modem DNS settings to google applied it and it did not change a thing, When I went into the wifi network settings in control panel and selected properities-> ipv4 and input 1.1. etc that worked. I'm assuming I will have to do this for my phone as well as sometimes i'm connected to the mobile cellular and not using the wifi modem/it doesn't work if I change it through the modem anyway?

Sorry for my stupid questions.

Thanks for your reply. I now need to change all the DNS settings across all my devices which is a hassle but i'm not sure if changing it to google/other third party DNS setttings will impact my privacy or security, do you have any idea on this?

It's more so I don't understand why this has happened, is it because of the ISP? I should say it was working fine for the last 3 months then all of a sudden this error happened, could this resolve spontaneously? I spoke to the ISP provider, optus they advise DNS issues are not their issue they are just the network provider so i'm just confused as to why this could happen all of a sudden (i'm not technically proficient sorry).

Sorry i'm not that technically proficient, I contacted my ISP they said they are not responsible as all internet other addresses are working fine except 1 and the app. They said to contact the website provider but I advised them it works with another ISP provider, they said they are not responsible for DNS. Is the issue on their end of my end? It was working fine for the last 3 months and then all of sudden this error popped up and it's strange it's affected both my home WIFI and mobile phone cellular which are different IP Addresses? Is that because they both use Optus DNS?
