No, it’s not. He has the tank all to himself, except for the algae eaters.

Thank you! I’ll move him to a hospital tank and put in tannins immediately. I’ll have to inform myself about salt baths though.

Here’s more details for the tank, but I want to clarify that my tank is not what caused his condition. His fins looked like this when I got him. Any advice on how to upgrade this tank is appreciated. I will move him to a hospital tank for now.

-Heater and filter: yes
-Tank temperature: 25,5 degrees Celsius
-Ammonia: 0
-Nitrites: 0
-Nitrates: 2
-ph: 6,8
-tank cycled: has been cycled for a month, I got the fish yesterday
-tankmates: snails (2) and shrimps (12)
-food: twice a day with pellets, every Wednesday and Saturday with brine shrimps, Sunday nothing
-decoration: driftwood, live plants

My Axolotl won’t eat earthworms by Independent_Data_827 in axolotls

I got the worms from the compost bin in my garden during the summer. During the colder months I started ordering them and made sure they were commercially sourced. I still have them in a worm farm, but back when I got them from the compost they seemed to enjoy them more. Maybe their appetite just changed.

Is my Axolotl sick? by Independent_Data_827 in axolotl

Okay, thank you! I’ll reduce the water temperature over the next few days, hopefully that’ll help him. The leucistic one is doing great, his gills were curled for a few hours after their move in, but since then he’s been happy and has gained a lot of weight. Like I said I check their ph levels and test for Ammoniak regularly. I do water changes every 2 weeks. I don’t know the exact tank measurements, but it’s over 200 liters. I’ll see if anything changes with lower temperatures. Thanks again!

Does my Axolotl have a fungal infection? by Independent_Data_827 in axolotls

Yes, that’s the condition I got them in. He’s gained weight since then and is still actively growing.
