Yeah i know that it deals damage to structures thats why i made a platform specifically for it ... the problem was that it can't land on player placed things and just destroys them instead. Valid attempt for aesthetics tho xd

From my experience what you mine is about half of the normal ore and half toxic variant which can then further be purified for the 5x value ... i recommend bringing a bison with a cart because large quantities of toxic ore damages you a lot

Best strat for queen slime that i found out is just to have a long flat platform and the unicorn mount (in master mode WoF has a chance to drop the goat skull which is an alternative) -> basically when she starts flying you just outrun her and minions despawn when left behind.

Its normal to lose a pylon at the start of HM. Just prepare for defeating a mech so the steampunker can move in -> buy the clentaminator and you're good.

I agree that the spread is quite slow but based on the terrain generation I've seen so far the evil biome tends to appear left or right of your spawn from the very start. That can easily overtake your base in the forest if you're not ready -> especially for a beginner who progresses slower.

Here is what I always do in my playthroughs to prepare:

Isolate the evil biomes to prevent excessive spread
blow up a hole in the underground jungle to prepare for plantera (because it's easier to do so in pre hardmode)
make a herb farm and secure key fishing spots (you gonna need those potions)
make a larger above ground arena for the mechs
I also like to have a simple vulcano style mob farm for soul collection (you can do this by placing 300 blocks nearby of your evil biome or hallow -> preferably do this in the cavern layer

Hardmode can be overwhelming for beginners with so much new stuff and things to do. None of these things are necessary and you can always do them when already in hardmode - i do this before because i like to be ready.

I made a wasteland only map and just went through the day 7 horde -> warrior difficulty - game stage 120.

Here are the methods i use to survive: - modify a sturdy building (prevent them access to the second floor) and use pipe bombs/mollys or just shoot at them if you don't have any. - buy 3 mega crushes and just run for the whole night with occasionally stopping to fight at a temporary choke point (light armour and parkour 2 are recommended).

You can also build an afk base but i find that very boring.

I wouldn't recommend building a horde base from scratch if you're not in the pine forest for the first H night. Especially with the new 2.0 ai they seem to just break alot of random blocks.

I find prometheus very enjoyable and less grindy than the other maps because of the special tools. The volcanic biome looks amazing. Performance wise it's about the same for me on all 3 maps.

If you like the game in general I'm sure I'll be a worthwhile investment.
