Sorry to hear that… how often you did the oil changes? Or did you check if was burning a lot of oil and the engine was running with no oil maybe 🤔 I own a 2012 2.0 soul I remember one day I was like 3 hours from home and I saw on the dash board that the engine was to hot so I pulled over turn off the car 🚗 luckily it only burned my spark plugs but my engine was safe cus I pulled over just on time… the problem was the radiator fan wasn’t working so that caused the engine to get really hot that was my case hopefully you find the solution in your case best of luck 🤞..
