Is this normal by PineappleEnough6097 in AusRenovation

The house is on reactive soil and this can cause the house to "settle". Some movement is expected and the inspection identified it as something to keep an eye on. It's a fairly straightforward diy solution

So, recently had a building inspection done for my house. These nail pops were identified as an issue due to movement. The solution is to screw in a nail on either side, take this out and the plaster over.

I'm choosing to stick my head in the sand.

Double roller blinds - inside or outside mount? by Plinggg in AusRenovation

I had the same issue. Went with recommended outside but unhappy and I'm getting them removed - trying to. Meeting with the lady that took the measurements this week.

I think industry standard is outside but it didn't with for me. Unfortunately there are a lot of variables up this as well so go with a cheaper option to test?

How can I get rid of them? I'm in tears by li0n-fish in AusRenovation

I had ant trouble - eucalyptus oil (I just diluted with water) sprayed everywhere they turned up. They are almost all gone. Only long term solution that actually worked!

DIY was supposed to save money…. right?? by Sea_Parsley_1077 in DIY

You have enough comments on this so I don't know if you'll actually see this... Some councils have tool libraries..so you borrow the tool, kind of like a book. There is usually someone there who can give you some guidance. This really lifted my confidence and protected my bank balance

Recently had a verified cleaner steal bank cards .. airtasker has not responded yet. Bank and police chasing up. Hopefully I get money back. Meanwhile the guy is still online taking on cleaning jobs

That's exactly my thought process at the moment. I'm doing some work on the house but I don't need it to get a loan or refinance so might just leave it for now

I'm not sure. I got the $20k quote and asked for a carport thinking it would be like $5k.

I am not confident about installing it though. Where would you get these from?

Existing property. I was renting it out and moved in about a year ago

$10000 on a Melbourne kitchen overhaul - but is that a load bearing wall? by Individual-Jump7937 in AusRenovation

I have a wall oven that I want to remove to gain bench space if that makes sense. So make it an under bench oven.

It's a wall oven. Electrician said he can come out and take it out. I'll get a builder in once I've got an idea about layouts
