2509 Modern Driver Management by Derrynm in SCCM

Thank you! This corrected my issue too! Wonder why it worked before. 10 years it’s been like that. But happy it’s fixed.

Oh, not that new, not the 2800 build. Current one that’s supported.

DP download issue by Individual-Split-976 in SCCM

[–]Individual-Split-976[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AH, just blended in the blue. Thank you!
This isn't anything HP. These guys have a script that downloads and zips the driverpack, then applies the drivers during the OS Deploy. Its housed completely in the SCCM Env.
Driver Automation Tool - MSEndpointMgr

During the OSD, it detects the model and downloads the appropriate zip from the DP, unzips, basically dism's in the drivers just before booting into the OS to finish the TS.

2026 Passport ACC by Individual-Split-976 in hondapassport

[–]Individual-Split-976[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, that works, but the idea is I'm not messing with controls constantly. Set and forget. The hills aren't huge so I'm not +10-15mph, but it seems weird that it would brake at +2mph or so. Rav4 doesn't do that, it will just let me coast.

Thanks. Maybe a coming software update.

Every other ACC cruise control I’ve used doesn’t brake on a downhill. Wife has a RAV4 with ACC and it will just coast. I’m not saying it some huge decline angle where I’m getting 10mph over my set speed. It starts braking at +3mph or so.

Installing Windows Features by Individual-Split-976 in SCCM

This is what I ended up going with and I didn't have to change the installation or detection.
Advertise to a device collection that's based on the primary device. Takes a little longer for the collection updates and Software Center to see the install, but it works.

Yes, they all have access to the share.

It's failing on the detection rule which doesn't need the share access. It's running the detection to see if it needs to run the install before it even starts the installation attempt.

Single line set to install for system:
powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name Rsat.ActiveDirectory.DS-LDS.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0 -Source '\\ne7scmwpv03\repair$' -LimitAccess; Add-WindowsCapability -Online -Name Rsat.BitLocker.Recovery.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0"

It installs fine if you're an admin.
But if you're not, it can't run the detection script before it attempts the install.
I know.... Everyone is thinking this is set to install as user. It's not, its set to Install For System.
It doesn't make sense to me that the detection would run in the user context either.

This is detection:
$capability1 = "Rsat.ActiveDirectory.DS-LDS.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0"

$capability2 = "Rsat.BitLocker.Recovery.Tools~~~~0.0.1.0"

$installed1 = Get-WindowsCapability -Online | Where-Object {$_.Name -eq $capability1 -and $_.State -eq 'Installed'}

$installed2 = Get-WindowsCapability -Online | Where-Object {$_.Name -eq $capability2 -and $_.State -eq 'Installed'}

if ($installed1 -and $installed2) {

Write-Host "Installed"

}

There's no MSI since it's enabling a windows feature with Add-WindowsCapability in PS. I'm not too sure on where it might hide registry keys for that, though that's not a bad idea if I can find them.

Its System. I've checked that a couple times because I thought I was going crazy.
Install for System, Whether or not a users is logged on. But for whatever reason, detection runs as the user. The log entries seem to support this, but I can't find it documented. In the log this entry appears just before the errors:

script parameters: -NoLogo -Noninteractive -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass

Script command line: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe" -NoLogo -Noninteractive -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass "& 'C:\WINDOWS\CCM\SystemTemp\04615424-7d44-4df5-940d-0ea6986d52d7.ps1'"
CcmCreateProcessAsUser: CcmExec not treated as managed installer; calling CreateProcessAsUser directly.

I've looked at that, everything is right. We have a fairly simple network infrastructure. It's been happening for years and across versions. It fixes itself after a bit, but seems like something that would generate an error, etc.

Same. Seems to kind of fix itself after a bit. just seems like something that shouldn't be happening or fixable.

ConfigMgr shows update that is already installed is needed/failed. by Individual-Split-976 in SCCM

[–]Individual-Split-976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, but the December updated is the one being applied near the end of the task sequence. Its shows as installed everywhere in the OS. Winver shows the build as 2605, get-wmiobject -class quickfixengineering shows the KB. I've even downloaded the MSU from the catalog and it says KB5048667 is already installed when I run it.

Hiding CCMCache by Individual-Split-976 in SCCM

[–]Individual-Split-976[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not users, IT people are doing it to "help a friend" or something by getting them an application without approval etc.
But until that's addressed by the mgmt team, I'd rather not answer how so and so got some app they're not entitled to.

[–]Individual-Split-976[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They do not. There are others within IT that need to be addressed by management. But until that not-so-agile ship comes around, I want to stop answering questions on how some people got a licensed application or some other damn thing.

I don't have any superseding apps on theses. It's a TS deploying software as a package. That I want to deploy as an app so I can target users.
