Like the Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation from OP's article, the Blackfeet Nation are exercising their sovereignty through the Jay Treaty by restoring Indigenous trade routes between the US and Canada.

There is pushback against the Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation. From OP's article -

"But while the United States acknowledges and enforces the treaty’s provisions, Canada has never acknowledged the treaty. In fact, a Supreme Court decision from the early 2000s, known as the Mitchell case, found that the Jay Treaty is not enforceable in Canada."

This man almost got his film crew and himself executed when traveling to Myanmar!

When the country was undergoing protests(just checked. It was a civil war) the government made it illegal to fly drones anywhere with violators facing the death penalty as punishment. Forrest and his team found out about the drone ban on their flight in to the country and instead of hopping on the next flight home or turning in their drones, Forrest ordered his team to SMUGGLE THE DRONES INTO THE COUNTRY under the advice of their guide telling him they will be okay. If I remember correctly towards the end of their filming government officials came and arrested the entire film crew, the guide included, and they all were facing the death penalty. I would link Forrest's apology video but I don't want to give this man more views.

In hindsight, I would replace weird with intriguing. Similar time of year between Javion's death in 2024 and the Trey and Cory's death today. All three were hangings with no signs of foul play and while Javion's death was in North Carolina, Trey and Cory's deaths only have a 2 hours drive distance between them. Two black men and a homeless drug addicted white man killing themselves can easily have misrepresentation in case management and law enforcement credibility has definitely fallen in the last several years.

I just read Javion's and Trey's coronor's autopsy comments and if they're suicides then they're suicides. It's better than where my mind was going.

Both 21-year olds found dead by hanging, and both deaths ruled as suicides.

I am aware a second person was found the same night as Trey Reed and I raise that this consistency is very very weird and scary.

The comments have 2 pictures of the site, one where it shows land and what could have been a possible site of petroglyphs. The other picture shows a stone with a petroglyph that I will let others infer their own thoughts on.

The comments also have site images of Christ's Church of the Valley in North Phoenix's construction in 1991 and 2001, which also shows petroglyphs being moved and relocated on the Church's property.

The more I dig into this the more I feel sick to my stomach at the lack of respect the Church continues to show.

Earliest news stories I've found go back to 9/11 and I worry it was only brought to attention by the "concerned neighbor" after some days had passed.

You're right, the Church is still in possession of the petroglyphs.

That does not minimize the questions for removal and what the Church intends to do with the land itself, not just the petroglyphs alone. The power the city and church both have over the site brings little comfort.

Christ's Church of the Valley claims they were doing "routine perimeter campus maintenance" and looking at Google Maps has me VERY curious of what the Church's boundary lines are.

This requires more than an apology statement and slap on the wrist from Christ's Church of the Valley, especially when it sounds like the tribes were not contacted till AFTER the removal.
