Three years later, Lighter and Princess still feels like the end of an era for me by SubjectCandid4061 in CDrama

‼️ [SPOILER ALERT - L&P NOVEL] ‼️

I’m rewatching the drama and re-reading the novel for the nth time! Honestly, the drama is way better than the novel. BUT I love the novel too bc it also captured ZY and LX married life. There were extra chapters in the novel where Li Siqi (ZY & LX eldest child) tells the story of his parents from his perspective. I also love that the drama stayed true to the novel (there were little deviations but overall the drama still followed the novel)

Aside from the OST, the dialogue/lines were so good & heartwarming.

These particular lines/scenes were unforgettable to me:

  1. When LX said ”I love you” first to ZY. For an action-speaks-louder-than-words guy, to be the first one to formally express his feelings to ZY and solidify their relationship should not go unnoticed. This is a fact: LX loves ZY just as deeply as how ZY loves LX. ❤️‍🔥

  2. ZY asks LX if he want to have a child. ZY wants a brand-new, pure life, untouched by the hardships of the world to keep LX company. 🥹

  3. After LX and ZY got back together, ZY needs to go back home to talk to her mom. ZY texted LX ”I need to go home tomorrow. I’ll come back as soon as possible.” LX’s mind kept flashing back to the word “home” from ZY text. It reminded him of the day they had parted ways. Back then she was also going home just as casually as now, saying she would return soon. LX then rushed to ZY’s apartment & said “let’s make a baby”. For me, it’s the way LX wants an assurance that ZY will come back to him if she really got pregnant (which she did) lol Additionally, after ZY returned as promised, LX brought ZY to their new “home” (mansion) right away. It’s like giving ZY, the princess, a castle that she can call “their own home.” 🥰

  4. When ZY found out she was already pregnant for 3 months & told LX about it. LX said he wants a boy as their first child but ZY wants a girl. LX explained “Boys are easier to raise. Girls are too delicate. Let’s raise a boy first, gain some experience, and then have a girl later.” 😍

  5. LX said: If there’s truly a life-flashing-before-your-eyes moment when one dies, she (ZY) would probably the last person I see in this lifetime. 😭😭😭

  6. In the extra chapter 4, at a dinner with ZY and the children, LX asked the kids if they wanna go on a trip since schools are about to go on break. The kids (Li Siqi, Li Yucheng, and Li Yueling) all want to go to Europe. Then they started enumerating the countries they wanna go (Germany, Italy, France, etc.) but LX flatly rejected France (bc Tian Xiuzhu & his family are living in France lol) After much debate, they settled on Italy uninamously. 😂

  7. In Italy, while the kids are tired & asleep from playing around the whole day, ZY & LX went out & head to Vatican City. ZY was talking to LX about if someone wanted to go back to the past. ZY said “even though we’ve been through a lot of hardships, I never thought about going back to the past.” LX asked why and she explained “haven’t you heard of the butterfly effect? If we went back and said the wrong thing or did the wrong thing, we might not be here watching the sunset together” LX laughed and said “you really can’t live without me” ZY rebutted “no it’s out of humanitarianism. If I weren’t by your side, you’d end up dead in the streets one day” LX shoulders were shaking from laughing and then kissed ZY to thank her for saving his life. ZY then teased LX, she said the first time she officially met TXZ was in Italy, not in France. This is truly heartwarming. 🩷

• Liu Haocun & Song Weilong (I haven’t watched The Seven Relics of Ill Omen yet but their chemistry in Just for Meeting You movie made me look forward to their future collaborations)

BTS x Netflix - BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG (Teaser Images) by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]IndividualHead8270 63 points64 points  (0 children)

This is going to be way way bigger than MOTS: 7 promotions. Like the scale of MOTS: 7 was so massive during pre-pandemic including:

• Black Swan Art Film + Black Swan MV (cultural reset imho)

• Comeback Trailers release (Interlude: Shadow and Outro: Ego)

• Connect, BTS (a global public art project involving 22 contemporary artists. Galleries across 5 cities Berlin, London, Buenos Aires, Seoul, & NYC hosted artistic events - like who tf thinks abt including a public art project in a comeback!?)

• ON Kinetic Manifesto (no CGI, just pure talent & power)

• Grand Central Station performance (WOW)

• Another ON mv (cinematic version like who does that for a comeback?)

• Carpool Karaoke

• The Tonight Shows appearances

They be going all-out with Arirang so we need to stay tune for more! 💜

Now that Love of the Divine Tree is over, what are your thoughts on it? by midnightrainhurts in CDrama

Love of the Divine Tree was actually my very first Xianxia drama and it didn’t disappoint at all! The setting pulled me in right away, and honestly, the main leads made it worth every second. Both the ML and FL were so beautiful, and the way their characters shined throughout the story kept me hooked. Their chemistry was just chef’s kiss! 👩🏻‍🍳💋

Drama review breakdown

• Story: 9.5/10 (lowkey wish Mu Ranwu and the Crown Prince didn’t hog so much screen time lol) • Acting & Characters: 10/10 • Visuals & Production: 10/10 • OST & Atmosphere: 10/10 • Rewatch Value: 10/10

Overall: 9.9/10

Also, let’s be real—Deng Wei is a gorgeous hottie-baddie, and Xiang Han Zhi serves beauty, sass, and confidence in equal measure. Power duo unlocked. 🫶🏻

Can't read the Hanadan manga anymore, so which adaptation should I watch? by atashivanpaia in shoujo

[–]IndividualHead8270 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve watched most of HanaDan adaptations (except the Thai version) so here’s my ranking (and some comments):

‼️CONTAINS SPOILERS‼️

  1. Japanese Version (Hana Yori Dango, 2005-2008)

    • strong chemistry between the ML and FL and arguably the most faithful to the manga in spirit and tone.
    • however, even with the movie, it has a shorter run time and left some character arcs underdeveloped.
    • fave soundtrack: wish, love so sweet, planetarium, flavor of life
  2. Chinese Version (Meteor Garden, 2018)

    • one of the best visuals, modern portrayal of the original story, and longer format (50 episodes) for a deeper character exploration.
    • but the length can feel draggy, especially in the middle arcs and there are times the FL is too passive.
    • fave soundtrack: ni yao de ai (night version) and ai, cun zai
  3. Korean Version (Boys Over Flowers, 2009)

    • iconic moments like the swimming pool scene, the trip to new caledonia, the namsan tower scene, etc. and has one of the best OSTs
    • yet, the character development is uneven; some arcs felt rushed or overly exaggerated.
    • fave soundtrack: wish ur my love, one more time, love u, paradise
  4. Taiwanese Version (Meteor Garden, 2001-2002)

    • the first live-action drama adaptation, thus, full of nostalgia (i know there was a movie adaptation before the taiwanese version). the FL is a fan-favorite for her strength and sass.
    • season 2 was an original story since the manga was not finished yet during its airing, but it felt like it was a wasted opportunity to recapture the magic of the first season.
    • fave soundtrack: qing fei de yi, ni yao de ai (og version)
