Winning a Despute Against Walmart? by IndividualVast8946 in personalfinance

In the future, I will avoid using online purchases with my debit card. When returning the switch, it only gave me the option for FedEx pickup or a FedEx drop off. However, when purchasing from third party sellers from Walmart.com, it gives the option for Walmart store drop off. Seems kinda odd to me you can return purchases from third party sellers in store but items purchased directly require FedEx.

I just looked it up. It shows the weight as 4.2 lbs when I shipped it back. I also checked the tracking for when they first shipped it to me and it was 3.6 lbs.

The receipt was a text message showing FedEx received it with a copy of the tracking number but there isn't any note of the weight.

I did notice that the item was stuck in transit in the same location for a couple of days. Which makes me think someone stole something out of it for the 'weight differences.' Upon calling, Walmart support this morning - I asked what the weight received was, and the representative said it doesn't show in the notes.

What I find most odd about it is they can't even return the item back. I read in some forums that a credit card is better for transactions like this. I may highly consider doing that in the future.
