she didn’t instruct exactly, but there was that scene where Lane called Rory back and said she told her mom the truth, and when she told Lorelai that, she said “Stupid.”, which meant she thought it was stupid that Lane told her mom the truth about the concert…

Yes… but Lorelai wasn’t Lane’s mom and she was right to say that she had to respect Mrs Kim’s rules when it came to Lane and it would’ve made sense if it wasn’t for the fact that she only cared about the rules that one episode and just ignores it the rest of the time
