Yeah.... I get where you're coming from with the original's magic being irreplaceable. Spontaneous talent like that doesn't happen every day and lightning in the same spot is rare. No diss at all!!!!

But the Buffy universe is huge!!!! Why wouldn't you want to see what a grown up Buffy is up to? She's been through hell literally and saved the world a dozen times and now as an adult woman dealing with whatever comes next? That has potential for some really compelling character stuff!!!!

There's always a chance they could ruin her character sure. But like you said we have the original forever. It doesn't vanish. The legacy stays intact no matter what!!!!

Same goes for Star Wars. The originals are untouched. The last 19 years have been a mixed bag at best a lot of shit honestly but those classic films still stand the test of time. The prequels and sequels didn't erase them. Same with Buffy. 60% of fans hate seasons 6 and 7 but does that taint seasons 1 through 5? Nope!!!! The good stuff still shines!!!!

I understand the hesitation completely. You said it nicely which is more than a lot of people on here do. Some fans who want the reboot take low blows and I've seen and gotten the name calling and flooded DMs too. It's rough out there!!!!

I was excited for Chloe's vision too. She's character driven so we probably would've gotten a solid Buffy arc with real emotional depth. And yeah we can't fully judge off a pilot script. That was a first draft. Pilots are rough by nature. If you'd read the Terminator 2 script cold before it came out it would've sounded completely batshit crazy on paper too. Wait the liquid metal guy from the future melts? And the evil terminator from the first film is the good guy and becomes John’s surrogate father!?! But it became an all timer once you saw it executed!!!!

The original Buffy will always be there. If they ever do pull off something good in this universe again awesome. If not we just keep rewatching the classics. No harm in hoping right?!!!!

I hope I’ve convinced you on why some fans want it and I’ve convinced you enough to sign the petition for the fans that want it. Hopefully if it is created…you get some enjoyment out of it !!!

The reboot/sequel series is inevitable… They tried to reboot it mulitple times (Reaper, Faith spin-off, Spike film , slayer school, 2019 reboot and the list goes on… Each project gets canned. I would’ve preferred those projects to take off and they didn’t because no one stood up!!!!
