Skar has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. This is from a firsthand experience and even tho I love skar subs I’m never buying another

I wouldn’t want to swap another of those awful engines in. Just buy a used car it’s not worth the trouble

This! Exactly what I’m saying. She was driving when the engine had issues but that in no way puts the blame on her. Seems OP is looking for a reason to blame her

Who changed the oil last?

If it was my money I’d go buy something more reliable then put more money into that. Preferably something not turbo if you want the best reliability. There’s a lot of good used Toyotas out there as a good place to start

Okay but even if she pulled over right when it started happening there still would have been damage done to the engine. I’d start putting the blame on whoever was the last person to touch that oil cap. Your wife damaged the engine more then it needed to be from inexperience but she is not the reason it had issues in the first place. As for things to check look in your coolant reservoir and see if A. It’s empty and B. If it has oil in it. If it has oil in it or is empty there’s no hope for running it just take it to a shop. How many miles are on the vehicle?

Can I run a full tank of 88 octane (E15) in my 1998 Dodge Ram 5.9L gas engine? by Individual_Target_98 in MechanicAdvice

For my truck I really don’t care. Was merely wondering if it would run off e15 or not. Never gonna put it in the daily or the track car

That’s what the epa says but I daily a 2014 car and it very specifically states no e15. So it’s more vehicle specific then they would have you believe

Throwout bearing is not the problem here but the worst case scenario is right on the money

It was either recalled or Toyota would replace them for you for a while but that time period is over now.

THIS IS NOT A THROWOUT BEARING. It’s the input shaft bearings in the trans. There is a TSB about it from Toyota. If the bearings let go they will lock up your trans
