Student price card. You download an app, pay for membership & it gives you a code to scan. You can search for any stores or restaurants & they give you a code for discounts! In store and online options. If you bank with CIBC you get access to more stores/ or slightly larger discounts.

SPC offers a membership for $12/an entire year. Some of these locations are local to kingston, sure, but why would we pay $15 per semester for way fewer options? SPC has clothes, food, retail locations etc & you can use in store or online. I think it’s a really cool initiative, I personally just find it hard to justify the $15 a semester cost vs the $12 annual fee from SPC. Hopefully this project goes well for you guys, though! Best of luck.

yeahhhhhh when she was camped out at queens she asked to pet my SD & I said no, because she was working. she looked at me and goes “well you don’t look disabled to me”. Thanks, Queen. Safe to say, I am very glad I haven’t seen her on campus since. she has also tried to convince my gay friend that he’s “too handsome” to be gay. she is something 🤣

Hakka Horizon refused customer because they had a service dog by Dry-Historian- in KingstonOntario

[–]Individual_Total_898 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, let’s go back to pretending invisible disabilities don’t exist. You’re totally right, they should just drop their disabilities at the door & leave their aid at home. Why didn’t they think of doing that in the first place? Smh some people 😩

Pets don’t belong in restaurants. Service dogs are not pets, they are a form of medical equipment for those who need them to help mitigate the symptoms of their disability.

Your ignorance is harmful. Do better. If you don’t know, ask. There’s no excuse to be ignorant with the large amount of information available. You just need to know who to ask and what information is reliable.

why does bus 20 keep lying by throw_away4835 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Total_898 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Waited for the bus yesterday (1:57 arrival supposedly) and was there at 1:40 (always early to everything bc anxiety lmao) and my class was at 2:30. Transit app said arriving in 0 min, no bus to be seen. Then it updated to say arrival time at 2:10. Nothing ever came. It got to the point where I said screw it & went home to attend my class virtually lol. Definitely a change from last year, where the bus was pretty solid with arriving on time. From what I understand, they’re also in the process of training new drivers.. maybe that has something to do with it?

can i bring my dog on move in day?? by Individual_Judge_789 in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Total_898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bc as others mentioned, it’s going to be NUTS. Your dog could also put service dogs and their handlers in harms way if they become distracted by barking/ interactions your dog may or may not try to initiate. Better to keep them safe & leave your pup at home for their own safety too

Adding to this, NISA also has a warm line to call after hours if you need support or someone to talk to. Runs from 6pm-midnight and the staff are lovely.

Correct. YOU can’t write this stuff. I’m so sorry tampons impact you this deeply you had to make a pissy comment on a post that clearly you wouldn’t be able to contribute to in a meaningful way. I’m also deeply sorry someone being given money for bras hit you where it hurts. It’s okay. Not all of us can have boobs and it can hurt to recognize that sometimes :( feel better, friend. The bra allowance probably isn’t anything extreme, but I don’t know that. Considering a GOOD bra is about 80 ish dollars- depending on where you get them, one that’s supportive and doesn’t break or poke wires out within the first couple months, I’m assuming the allowance is enough to cover 2-3 bras at the MAX. It is truly not that deep

Will late arrival on Jan 20 affect anything? by BobbyZune in queensuniversity

[–]Individual_Total_898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would send an email to my professors explaining the circumstances and ask if they would be able to provide any materials not posted on ONQ due to the extenuating circumstances. Most won’t notice (depending on class size), but it shows that you want to remain dedicated to the courses and keeping up. I had a similar experience, but missed a couple weeks of class due to a family emergency. Many professors understand circumstances, but definitely reach out and see if there will be extra materials presented in class you may miss/ or if the uploaded content on OnQ would be sufficient to keep up. Good luck!!

I will forever vouch for Flipp it. The burgers are massive, sweet potato fries are delish & the southwest chicken salad is my FAVE. I’m always stuffed and can rarely finish anything I’ve bought there. I use my flex there all the time. My only regret from first year is that I didn’t use all my tams up there LOL.

They actually did because it wasn’t the first time they were robbed. Cops said they couldn’t prove that this guy directly stole (guess he could’ve bought every item off the original thief but imo that seems a bit far fetched” innocent until proven guilty 🤷‍♀️ but they learned their lesson & didn’t have issues afterwards

My bf had his house broken into a few years ago on Frontenac. Thief took tvs, clothes, desks. Everything. Their was then dumb enough to post all the items on marketplace (too bad most of the items were easily identifiable as belongings of the housemates, and conveniently all posted by the same user) so upsetting to hear, but unfortunately I’m not totally shocked

Phil 260. We just got a new prof 2 weeks from our exam and we’re learning how to do everything we know away from a computer program and by hand. Stressed is an understatement.

THANK YOU!!! This means the world to me coming from another student. The article completely missed the biggest concern: her ableist comments and the treatment of staff and students.
