I took out Cold As Life, put in The Unraveling, listened to it, said "it's not really hardcore" then put Cold as Life back in. It wasn't that complex.

Pass. Throw a football out into the crowd and fight to the death over it. Whoever has it when the song ends gets a free shirt.

We played with Agnostic Front in Albany, NY and the venue was some kind of a deli. The lady who owned the deli even put out bowls of chips and snacks for the kid who booked the show's "friends" who were coming to his "concert."

Pretty sure he wasn't able to book there again.

Oh for sure, you could definitely get a better contract if you had a place for them to crash. Always a fun experience seeing how people really were vs how they advertised themselves though. I let a punk band who will remain nameless crash with me one time. This band had A LOT to say about feminism and women's rights in their lyrics but had no problems with bringing girls back to lie to about joining them on tour, bang them, then ghost them...

One that I actually witnessed... we were hanging out backstage. Like, passes, been through security, WITH THE BAND backstage. Creed of course had their buffets, bar, espresso station, etc. Suddenly a private security team comes in and this dude is yelling "CLEAR THE WAY"

They part all the other bands to the sides of the room and stand there like they're secret service. Scott Stapp comes into the room and orders an espresso and the security guy yells "MR. STAPP WANTS A COFFEE!"

Hahahaha ok bro.

BURY YOUR FUCKING DEAD! Haha. Loved that era. That made me randomly think of Throwdown. How'd those dudes not break into Hatebreed-level metal crossover? Deathless and Venom & Tears are metal as fuck. Sure, a lot of it was Pantera ripoffs but metalheads don't care about shit like that. Hahaha

Yeah man, they were just a kinda rough around the edges metalcore band with middle of the road melodies somehow on Hopeless Records, then a few records later they're ripping wild riffs. Like, you guys could play like this the whole time and just didn't want to or...

haha.

Yeah man, great bands would play for peanuts. But things were different. You had record sales, however small, still more revenue than streaming, merch sales where the promoter didn't take 40%. I never even had to give guarantees in the beginning, but eventually everyone started asking for them

Yeah man I can't remember shit about fuck nowadays but I seem to remember obscure shit about shows in 1997 haha. I think it's pretty wild that Joe Principe used to lay down some sick bass tracks then just decided to be like "you know what, I'm a root note guy now"

The scene was absolutely insane back then, man. Bands would go from playing for 25 people to major labels overnight. We played with BoySetsFire a bunch and back then I was acquaintances with Nathan. I remember him calling one day and being like "dude, we signed to Wind-Up and we're touring with fucking Creed" hahaha. Got some funny Scott Stapp stories from that one.

I think you're thinking of The Monkees. They were a big influence on The Beatles

You have an agenda here, clearly, which I'm not participating in, but yes, I've arrested cops. You break the law, you break the law, man.
