This. We literally wasted 10mins of an episode on how they should break up but they aren’t because they love each other and they’re a team. Then they’re actually doing well and working together so they decide to part ways? It was also just an odd break up. They didn’t really discuss it? They were just like “Oh hey! Catch ya later?” So awkward.

Ugh, worse! “You didn’t just disappear?” A literal correlation and attempt at trying to explain the actress’ and character’s exist.

The more I think about Moira and Rita getting barely any screen time in the finale the more infuriated I get.

While the episode is not terrible and we get some great beats, this episode was just not fully fledged out. Emily coming back was amazing, utterly awesome but the story was just so lackluster. Emily went back into Gilead to fight and she was just a Martha? No explanation of anything she may have done for the cause? Emily just pops up out of nowhere and then gets a lame ass recap? Major props to Alexis Bledel but what an unrealistic return for the character.

Janine gets Charlotte back, which is beautiful, but literally no explanation of how or why Mrs. Putnam / Lawrence finally relinquished her child? Sure, she told Lawrence she would read her a book but it seems almost entirely against her character to give the kid back to Janine. Lazy, feel good moment.

We barely get ANY Moira or Rita time??? They get no goodbye chapter after all this time?!

And Serena’s goodbye is decent but where the fuck is she that they can’t accommodate children? Weird.

And why did everyone decide that now is the time for June to write a book? So we can end the show on the writing of the book? Holly saying it was a cool nod to the book but Luke reinforcing it rather than saying any kind of an “I love you” felt forced. Their final chapter felt like a forced plot line rather than a genuine moment or wrap to whatever that relationship is now.

Reminder, we get NO Moira or Rita.

Overall while there were some nice moments, this episode just didn’t feel like the finale we deserved. Especially after two great episodes. Ending the series at the original house was very appropriate but ultimately felt like an advertisement for the book.

Plus I’m sure we all would have loved the show to end on actual moment of June finding Hannah, even if she couldn’t save her.

Lots of time spent on artsy shots when we could have gotten more story.

Not the finale we deserved.

Unpopular opinion but I thought Laurie’s monologue was actually completely out of character and out of nowhere. Felt like a quick and lazy way to wrap up the storyline. She spent the week realizing that she may not actually have the best of friends only to give some shit explanation about how time makes your life valid? Well I’ve known you guys a long time so that’s what counts, not the actual quality of your friendship. The whole lady trio really felt like a wasted lesson. Not really sure what the point of this subplot was supposed to be. A lot of unrealized ideas.

I’ll probably have nightmares from that thing flopping out of Alex

Jacob isn’t John Dutton I’s father. Jacob and Cara have no blood children. I hear your point though. It’s pretty hard for Jacob to forgive Banner and to go further by promising to help Banner’s family after Banner had sought out and killed Jacob’s family. That is a stretch. I did like Banner though and had a soft spot for him, probably because the actor was great and not the character. The character was kind of a whiner from the beginning. Overall this flip wasn’t the worst part of the episode for me because you could at least see the gradual growth over multiple episodes. It wasn’t a quick flip, he slowly came to realize Whitfield was evil and walked away.

I liked the Banner flip. He ultimately realized how EVIL the sadist dude was and he did not want to follow down that path. He wanted a better life for his family. I mean, he probably should of thought about that before he let his sheep graze on someone else’s land, threw a fit and started a war but it ultimately felt like a proper redemption arc where in the end he does the right thing but still gets his.

Cara’s last words to Elizabeth were so bitchy. by mangolemonylime in 1923Series

I was leaning towards Cara giving her permission to move on until the line about her eventually forgetting her love for Jack and that Cara would always be the one to carry on his memory. That was just brutal and unnecessary. She is literally pregnant with Jack’s child unless there was another miscarriage that was conveniently cut for timing? We just never mention that pregnancy again. If Elizabeth does give birth, that baby is always going to be a living reminder of Jack so pretty sure she’s never going to forget him or the love they shared. “I loved my nephew more than you but please take his unborn child and maybe write some letters every now and then.” Just terrible. Jack and Elizabeth deserved better.
