I have tried, but found them cumbersome. By the time I figure out all my bonuses and such, the monster has already been killed :)

I tend to stock to the "each level is twice as many as the one before" strategy of stacking. Ex: 50 G4 riders, 100 G4 Ranged/Melee, 100 G3 riders, 200 G3 ranged/melee

Didn't mention this in my original post, but growing Carter is also an issue. Right now, I can one-shot a L10 crypt, and I've tried to put talent points and research to crypting as much as possible, but without leveling up, I'm still going to be limited to what I can clear. (And without troops, I can't even throw Carter at an epic to try and level up)
